Overview I am delighted to introduce the Early Entrance Programme for 11+ and 13+ entry to Roedean School. This entry route to Roedean is ideal for applicants for whom Roedean is their first choice.
At Roedean, we aim to make the admissions process as smooth and informative as possible. We understand that choosing the right senior school for your daughter is a big decision, and we will help in any way we can. GLOSSARY Open Days An Open Day is an ideal opportunity to get a real sense of our unique and holistic vision, and is designed to give you a broad overview of the school and an opportunity to meet staff and girls. You are encouraged to attend at least one Open Day. Experience Days From Science to Netball, Visual & Performing Arts to Hockey, Roedean offers a variety of experience days to challenge and inspire, with something for everyone. Roedean Early Entrance Testing Entrance testing in English, Maths and Non-Verbal testing, and an interview. Rockpools Day Rockpools Day is a highly anticipated event normally held in June of Year 5 for girls following the standard route and will also be open to Year 5 girls following the early-entrance programme. At Rockpools, the girls disappear down Roedean’s secret tunnel to the sea and explore rockpools, along with team-building activities. It is an informal and hugely enjoyable day when the girls begin to build friendships with each other and their relationship with the school. ‘Be a Scholar for the Day’ For those considering applying for a scholarship, we have ‘Be a Scholar for the Day’ sessions in the following areas: Art, Dance and Drama. These are an opportunity for your daughter to shine and be challenged in her chosen field, ahead of the scholarship application process. Discovery Day Discovery Day, which takes place in November of Year 6, is the first formal admissions event for registered girls following the standard route and will also be open to Year 6 girls following the earlyentrance programme. The day is one of the highlights of the year and is focused around themed academic activities. Taster Day Taster Days offered in Spring of Year 7 to 13+ entry applicants, will allow pupils to enjoy some ‘taster lessons’ and other group activities covering a wide range of co-curricular interests. Taster days are also available on request to 11+ applicants in the Spring of Year 6. Scholarship Assessments Those who have applied for practical scholarships will be invited to the school to take part in a practical assessment and everyone who has applied for a scholarship will have a general scholarship interview. New Girls’ Day An opportunity for those who have accepted to meet their peers, tutors and teachers, and find out practical information ahead of September.
