Materials handling

Brunitec® local filter, extraction at source – is a

Brunitec® transfer point enclosure – is the best

specially designed hose filter for the reduction of excess pressure in conveyor systems and silos. It has four hoses that are individually cleaned mechanically with a blast of air. The collected dust is not transported to any collector but instead falls back onto the conveyor belt or into the silo. The filter power head and fan is cast in aluminium but is available in bronze to meet EEX requirements. The filter housing is made of sheet aluminium/zinc or stainless material for aggressive environments. The filter requires little space and is therefore easy to locate even in confined spaces. A Timer or differential pressure controls cleaning.

solution for dust and spill problems that occur when loading conveyor belts. It is available with several types of skirtings. The enclosure has universal fixing components and adjustable legs, which means it can be used on all types of conveyor belts. It is quick and easy to fit without any ‘sweaty’ work. It can easily be complemented with a Brunitec® local filter. The standard design is in sheet aluminium/zinc but it is also available in stainless materials for corrosive environments or where hygiene regulations demand that the system can be cleaned by water. Fixed components are cast in aluminium or in bronze for EEX requirements (explosive environments).

Brunitec® spillage conveyor –

Brunitec® conveyor belt cleaner system – consists of several models that can either work independently or in combination. The pre-cleaner and the drum scraper work directly on the drive pulley. The renowned secondary cleaner with automatic air pressure tensioning device, with its thin, durable hard-metal blades, works well even on difficult materials. The secondary cleaner is a universal solution for the majority of material types and belt speeds.

is the ultimate answer to avoid cleaning up carry-back and spillage from conveyor belts. It consists of prefabricated sections in stainless steel. The chains are wear resistant and specially designed to manage splinters and the like without problems. The chains run on sturdy oak supports along the whole of their length. The result is minimal wear and low noise levels as the flights are not in direct contact with the bottom of the trough. Splitting up the drive, intermediate sections and the tensioning station means that it can be installed in the majority of existing machine environments. The tensioning station allows tensioning from either side. The conveyor can therefore be placed directly against a wall. The correct tension can always be maintained with an optional automatic system. The screwed joints throughout the construction eliminate all ‘sweaty’ work.

Brunitec® fire damper – reduces the risk of fire spreading. As fires spread quickly, sprinklers are insufficient to protect conveyors and buildings. An active measure is to seal of the risk area. It is difficult to section off conveyor belts because of their construction. Brunitec’s unique solution creates a seal despite the fact that the belt is curved. The fire damper is linked to IR or other sensors. The fire damper can, for example, be located between a boiler house and a fuel preparation area where crushing, for example, can cause sparks. A fire-fighting system in the crusher combined with a fire damper in the wall to the boiler house greatly improves safety.

Brunitec® spillage hoist – is designed to lift up the spillage that the spillage conveyor has collected from the belt in the loading zone. Despite the sealing system, the leakage of material is unavoidable in certain transfer points between conveyor belts. Totally encapsulating the loading zone is justified to remove the spillage continually.

Brunitec® air canon – VSR Blaster® Renowned for many years with thousands installed in a wide variety of applications. The majority recognise the air canon as an invaluable help in dealing with flow and arching problems in silos, containers etc. Since its introduction in the seventies, the technology has been developed as an aid for dust cleaning in high-temperature applications like cyclones and ducts on cement ovens, dust filters in metallurgical processes, and tubular gratings, heat exchangers, filters etc. in boiler systems. An area of growth is the various processes in the production of heat and power. The incineration of waste and bio fuels has resulted in increasing amounts of dust that create a problem with tubular gratings, ducts and filters becoming blocked. In many applications the air canon has proved to be an excellent complement or replacement for traditional methods. The air canon technique is unique. The combination of a simple construction, great reliability and low running costs means that it can be worthwhile investigating if the air canon is not the right answer.

Air canon – as simple as it is ingenious! The canon is loaded with an air pressure of 6-10 bars. When firing (rapid discharge), the canon gives a pressure surge from the canon pipe that activates the area to be cleaned. The power varies depending on the volume of air and the loading pressure. Available in sizes from 12 to 500 litres. There are several designs of the VSR Blaster® with the piston system in the tank or mounted externally, which makes it possible to have one tank for several canons. Irrespective of the problem, Brunitec has the answer! The large number of installations in a wide variety of applications has provided us with the necessary experience. If the air canon is not the right method then we have other answers in our range. One example is the pneumatic knocker that has automated the flow in many silos and containers where flow problems, arching or aggregation on the walls occurs.

Brunitec Engineering AB We are most at home when our customers involve us in their problems. As engineers we are totally committed to finding answers. Irrespective of whether the plant is new, is to be rebuilt or modernised, there are areas where standard techniques or established methods are insufficient. It can be in the interface between new and old, a specific area involving environmental demands or quite simply that the machine required is not available on the market. We at Brunitec have found our role is directly connected to things that our colleagues who work with complete systems cannot focus on. We have a limited range of our ‘own’ developments at our disposal. But that is not the most important thing. The crux of the matter is that each problem needs a specific answer. For this we have: -

Long and extensive experience of operational and maintenance questions. Great knowledge of the technology available internationally from other suppliers. Understanding of environmental and safety demands. Design resources using CAD technology.
