California Women’s Conference celebrates 30 years of gathering women May 1, 2017, Long Beach, CA – California Women’s Conference celebrates 30 years of gathering women and will honor the leaders of the “Million Women March” with the prestigious INSPIRIQUE Award. The awards will take place at a celebratory ceremony at the Long Beach Convention Center Thurs., May 11th, at 2:20PM. Million Woman March leaders Tamika Mallory, Carmen Diaz & Bob Bland will receive the INSPIRIQUE “Circle of Light Award” during a powerful gathering and celebration of women who have not only achieved success in their community but have ‘paid it forward’ in some way,” says INSPIRIQUE founder and executive director Tia Walker. “Each nominee is a community builder, whether through her business, or as a social entrepreneur, social justice or leaders who have brought others together for the betterment of the community.” “The Dalai Lama has said that Western women will save the world,” she continues. “ What meaning does this statement have for us in this historical moment? What must we do as Western Women to save ourselves, our children, our nation and our planet? Embracing the power of one woman’s decision to take a stand for what they believe in and make a difference is what the Million Woman March was all about and we are honored to celebrate these phenomenal leaders. Tia Walker, ARWEY Awards executive director and owner of The Inspired CEO™, says, “The awards are a source of great pride as women “Show Up” to recognize and celebrate women and the accomplishments they have made in communities throughout the world. The efforts of these dedicated women to creating the best possible environments in the workplace, and their true commitments to improving communities using “new business” models is to be applauded.

We are facing different challenges as a country that require new approaches and perspectives. I am encouraged with the impact of leadership from the feminine that’s being embraced by both women and men. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) Event organizers for the Women’s March-Los Angeles say the day is designed to unify communities and make a stand for “justice and equity forall.” Organizers stress that the event is non-partisan and not a protest, but a “celebration of human rights.” However, the Washington, D.C., march that sparked local “sister” marches like the one in Los Angeles was deliberately planned for the day afterPresident Donald Trump’s inauguration. And many of the individuals and groups planning to participate stand in opposition to Trump and his policies as laid out on the campaign trail and during his transition to office. “In a time when we are all wondering what we can do, we can do this … let them hear our voice!” march organizer Deena Katz said in a statement. Barbra Streisand, Jane Fonda, Natalie Portman, Kerry Washington, Alfre Woodard, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Moby, Sharon Lawrence, Brandy, Mandy Moore, Jamie Lee Curtis and Laverne Cox are among the celebrities slated to take part in the LA event.
