\

READING STUDIED EXPERIENTIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE STRUCTURE IF APPROACHING FROM BELOW AND ABOVE GROUND TO UNDERSTAND POTENTIAL MEANINGS ASSOCIATED WITH EACH PERSPECTIVE VIEW.

MIRRORING RADIAL SAMENESS

I WANTED TO CREATE A SYSTEM THAT LAYERS THESE AESTHETIC SYSTEMS IN ORDER TO SUGGEST AN EXPECTED COHERENCE BETWEEN THE ELEVATIONAL IMPRESSION FROM ABOVE AND THE SPATIAL CONDITIONS CONTAINED BELOW.

\

LOGIC

\

ORDER

DETERMINED THAT THIS ARRANGEMENT WAS ILLEGIBLY RANDOM. NO HINT OR SUGGESTION OF A REGULAR STRUCTURE OR OVERARCHING LOGIC.

SET PARAMETER THAT ALL UNITS SHARE ORIENTATION. EXPANDED UNIT TO ACCOMMODATE COMPLEMENTARY GEOMETRIES.

NEEDED TO SIMPLIFY SYSTEM AND BEGIN FROM ZERO IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND WHERE THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL SLIP COULD OCCUR.

INTENT WAS TO CREATE A RIGID UNDIFFERENTIATED READING FROM ABOVE, BUT CREATE AN UNEXPECTEDLY COMPLEX SET OF SPACES BELOW.

\

DETAILING EXPERIMENTED WITH COLOR AS A MEANS OF MASKING LEGIBILITY OF DIFFERENTIATION AMONGST FORMS. DARKNESS OF SHADOWS REINFORCED APPEARANCE OF REDUNDANCY AND SERIAL REPETITION. ETCHED SURFACE AT 2% POWER, 100% SPEED 60 WATT LASER CUTTER TO REVEAL WHITE UNDERLAYER. BLUEPRINT MODEL

years after the death of liet-kynes, the imperial planetary ecologist, leader of the fremen and seer who's vision was to one day alchemize the arrakeen deserts

from an unforgiving desolate wasteland into paradise. this project investigates and envisions architectural machines that carry the zeitgeist of liet's vision. these structures draw water from thin air, unearth life from the desert's nothingness. and mark the era of a new ancient.
