Story of Soil Wines

What little details in your tasting room and winery do you keep in mind to create the best tasting experience possible for your guests?

I think the most important aspect of our tasting experience is that whether you walk in knowing a lot about wine or a little about wine, you can always learn more. Our team is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to the educational aspect of wine, while keeping in mind what the guest actually wants to learn. We definitely love to get geeky about wine but we also understand that some guests may just want to relax and enjoy beautiful Los Olivos. Our private tastings at the winery definitely give a more in-depth look at how the wine is actually made and aged and can definitely be for those eager to learn more. A barrel tasting can also be a pretty exciting (and romantic) experience for those who have never done it before.

What are some of your favorite food and wine pairings for the holidays?

Oh gosh! I am definitely a girl that has a number of different wines open on the day of big celebrations. Rosé is usually served with some canapé or some Grüner Veltliner with a good cheese board, and I usually have Pinot Noir and Grenache on the table for the main course. In my opinion, Grenache is one of the most food friendly wines in the world and pairs perfectly with classic holiday meals.
