Namaste Hi, I’m Rohan, an Architecture Bachelor’s Student at School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal, India, currently in fourth year out of five-major year. I see urban design, Architecture and interior design as a practice forms of fine arts in which one always goes through process of discovery not just for forming good design but also towards discovering its impact on us,and our communities. I’m doing all I can to become able architect who succeeds in leaving a positive impact in people’s lives and communities. I hope you cherish my work and provide me with an opportunity to be a part of your team in furthering my proficiency I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your consideration.

A New Typology of Modular Construction
Classification : Competition/ group work ( 4 members) Duration: September December 2019.
“Happiness is a house with many rooms, but at its core is a hearth around which we gather with family, friends, the community, and sometimes even strangers to find the best part of ourselves.”
Location : Changsha, China Type : Modular Housing
When we design modular housing, we need to understand what housing is about. There are different layers and scales into which it is categorized. Each layer presents its own problems and considerations. The anticipation makes us question the beginning of the scales of housing. The contemporary urban condition grieves of housing shortages. Inflationary markets and fierce economic disparity, the number of people in slums, shelters and cage homes skyrockets.
68% of this projected population is expected to live in urban areas.
Can we resolve this by designing for a group or a community? The current world population is 7.7billion and it is projected to be 9.8 billion by 2050. Driven by rapid urbanization, almost

In consideration of this expanding population, parallel urban growth and increasing demands of rental housing, our vision is to provide rapidly multipliable modular dwellings. Which focuses on happy, livable, and affordable homes; tackling secondary present housing problems related to social isolation, substandard living, insufficient social infrastructure.

Attendance Connecting culture and infrastructure through semi-modular design
“By Education I mean an all round drawing of the best in the child and a man in body, mind and sprit” Mahatma Gandhi
With one of the largest and complex education systems in the world, India is one of the youngest countries in the world demographically, with 368 million (0-14 years) and 248 million (15-24 years). Not only it has the task to provide basic education but shall also increase awareness of the young minds towards their rich and vibrant culture. There are about 1 million government schools in India offering primary education, but these schools are usually in a poor shape even lacking in basic amenities. The intent thus becomes to provide a school design
which not only connects children to their culture but also provides them a better environment for studies loaded with amenities. Making them feel homely and comfortable even at school. For this purpose, a modulating system has been proposed where spaces can be defined by the community, further increasing the interaction of children with their culture.
In India, where primary education is made mandatory by the government, only 23.9% of children in Rural India are enrolled in Government Schools.
Bihar has emerged as the second lowest in ‘School Education Quality Index’ (SEQI) by Niti Ayog. The outcome is highly influenced by Infrastructure and access to schools, which seems to be lacking.
Patna with an overall literacy rate of 70.68%, still lies below the national average of 81%. majorly having government school like other cities in bihar.
The Site is in district of Phulwarisharif, a satellite town and a cultural centre for the state. Currently, with 29 schools present many parameters still haunt the education system of the town affecting its future.

Concept
Imitating the model of a village at its core, the design gives a freedom of space giving an opportunity of accidental meetings, discovery and exploration to the students with a sense of home and the familiarity. The courtyards and the corridors are a humble attempt to break away from the rigid education system constrained in the four walls of a classroom. keeping the playfulness and freedom of students alive, the building itself becomes a teacher. Under open sky, various open spaces would help students play, grow, and learn among them and with the community. The mud walls standing amidst the nature adorned with jaalis would make them feel home, encouraging to explore more, while feeling safe. “Amidst the concrete I had found nature today As if among strangers Someone had smiled.” - Sakshi Vashist Bhopal is one of the greenest cities in the country of India. But with rapid urbanization it’s losing its soul. In the design studio of seventh semester when we asked to propose a hotel for Madhya Pradesh Tourism
Board (MPTB) for promoting tourism in Bhopal. I proposed a 3 Star hotel with mall complex in front to make it commercially viable, while integrating it with the green personality of the city of
Bhopal for setting an example for setting an example for how rapid development can also help in promoting co-existence of nature and built together.

Background Study Academic Work/ Design studio View from site to main road
Observation Due to the central position of Bhopal it acts as an anchor point which tourist from across have to cross to reach UNESCO World Heritages sites like Sachi and Bhimbetka. While it also holds lot of national cultural events throughout the year. Keeping above facts in mind a transit hotel + mall was proposed theming in fashion of green nature of the site and Bhopal.

Documentation Pastel Town of Pondicherry (Tamil House)
As a conglomerate of different cultural influences, Pondicherry can be described as “heritage” in its entirety. These historical influences have found rich expression in defined streetscapes and architecture that has come to be the characteristic of the town today. Separated by the canal along the HM Kasim Street (Quai D’Ambour) are the French and Tamil Quarters, each with its own unique sense of place, their essence, best explored on foot. The Tamil Quarters Originally the native Tamil town developed around the nucleus of a group of
temples in the precinct. Streets were laid along the east-west axis, onto which the back-to-back row houses opened. Although a continuous wall-to-wall construction is again prevalent, the streetscape is very different in character from the French streets. The exterior facades of houses here mainly feature a thalavaram (street veranda) - a social extension of the house flowed by a thinnai (semipublic veranda ). These spaces add to the intimate scale and interactive nature of the streets. Typical elements of vernacular Tamil architecture like lean-to
