If you use makeup, wear perfume, or even just live in the world, summer can be a precarious time for your hair, skin, clothes, body, and scent. On a typical hot summer day, there are any number of things that can go wrong if you're not careful. But if something happens, don't switch into panic mode. Instead, follow these tips for dealing with the most common summer beauty disasters. 1. The heat makes your hair limp: If the heat is turning your hair into a limp and greasy mop, there are a few things you can do. First of all, condition your hair more frequently. If you currently condition at a pace of, say, twice a week, then you might want to step it up to three or four times during the summer months. Second, apply a little bit of Volumizing mousse to your roots in the morning, and then continue spritzing your hair with water throughout the day. 2. Your lipstick and lip balm melt in your purse: There are lots of types of makeup that can melt in the summer heat, but lip products seem to be the worst. For the summer months, you might want to put away your standard lipstick and lip balm and go with melt-proof products. You might not like the way they look quite as much, but it's better than having a purse full of gunk. 3. You're sweating too much: On the hottest days of summer, it's not uncommon to start sweating from unusual places. Don't be afraid to apply your antiperspirant to unconventional spots on your body such as to your chest and under your knees. Use a spray antiperspirant rather than a roll-on to avoid the chalky look. 4. Your tan line is uneven: Even if you try not to get too much of a tan from the sun, it's inevitable to get at least some minor tan lines simply from going outside sometimes. If you get tan lines in strange spots, just apply a little bit of bronzer over a few days and monitor its progress. 5. Your make-up comes off in the pool, and water resistant make-up doesn't come off at all: When it comes to this common problem, the only surefire solution is to use water resistant make-up but to keep make-up remover handy at all times. When you're ready to get that make-up off, apply some remover to a cotton ball and gently swab away all the waterproof elements. 6. You can't get rid of armpit stubble: If you keep detecting stubble in your armpits at the end of the day, try stretching the skin tight as you shave. This should help you get a closer shave, which will put off the stubble for a longer amount of time. 7. You're ready to go swimming but you haven't exercised enough: If you haven't done as much as you should to zap those patches of cellulite, you can use a body bronzer to conceal them.
