The iPad vs the laptop, users must ask their self if this is a fair challenge. People believe the iPhone and iPad should behave like a normal computer, which will never happen, however the iPad still carries a heavy punch. In this article, I will attempt to show you how the iPad still gives the laptop a run for its money. Weight and Size: The iPad weights 1.6 lbs and is just a half-inch thick, making it thinner than most laptops. This makes the iPad easy to store when traveling or while on the go during a crazy workday. The iPad's size also makes it airport friendly because it is easier to stash and carry than most laptops. I know that we all have had are struggles getting a laptop through airport security. Battery life: The iPad's battery is an awesome 3.75V, 24.8 watt-hour, which provides 10 hours of quality use and enables charging the iPad faster than charging via USB from a laptop. A fully charged iPad battery also means you do not have to carry that clumsy laptop adaptor around for the laptops daily charging while at work. Functionality and Practicality: Functionality and practicality is a big factor when comparing the iPad vs the laptop. Although the iPad takes the form of a tablet rather than that of the laptop, there is still some fair competition out there for functionality between the two. The laptop which opens up to an actual keyboard making it perfect for those users who use keyboards often, while the iPad is a tablet and has an on-screen keyboard, users still say they were surprised to find that they typed at about the same speed on the iPad vs. the laptop. Another benefit of the iPad is it's screen can be seen from almost any angle, while the laptop as you know cannot, however If there is a light source in the room, the shiny iPad screen will pick up that glare. Security: The one glaring issue of the iPad is its security; I know most of you people are aware of a security breach that exposed iPad owners including dozens of CEOs, military officials, and top politicians this past year. Apple has tried to fix this issue, however Jack Gold of J.Gold Associates questioned whether encrypted data stored on the iPad would be safe from hackers.

In my own opinion, I find the iPad more comfortable and ideal for watching videos, surfing the Web and reading electronic books vs. the laptop. I can hear you people screaming, "The iPad doesn't even have a built-in webcam," relax, Apple has promised future versions of the iPad will have a built-in webcam, maybe the iPad 2? So which one should you choose? Laptops have their benefits, but so do iPads, when the question arises iPad vs. laptop, it is up to the users preference and what he or she is willing to sacrifice in comfort-ability and functionality.
