LOCATION Situated in Northwest Georgia at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains. Center of a triangle formed by the cities of Atlanta, Birmingham & Chattanooga. POPULATION Rome & Floyd County – 94,800. Regional center for a six county area of 355,000 people.
CLIMATE A moderate climate with seasonal changes is conducive to outdoor activity most of the year. Annual Normal Mean Temperature 72 degrees Average Summer Temperature 79 degrees Average Winter Temperature 54 degrees Average Annual Rainfall 52 inches TRANSPORTATION Four lane U.S. Highways 53, 27, 411 & 20 link Rome to the north, south, east & west. I-75 is a short four-lane trip; I-20 is 40 miles away; I-59 is 50 miles. Shuttle service is available from the Atlanta Airport. HEALTHCARE Floyd Medical – Level II Trauma Center. Redmond Regional Medical Center. Harbin Clinic, multi-specialty, largest privately owned physician clinic in the southeast. Immediate care facilities throughout the city & county.
