Push cart

Push cart advertisement poster

Back to decades ago, Moore street market origins from the push cart culture on graham avenue. It has been forgotten during the development of the market. However, it is worth to renovate this unique tradition. Not only because it is part of Moore’s history, but also it is a good opportunity to help small business, since the cost of a push cart is affordable. By providing a push cart assembled by oneself, Moore street market encourages small entrepreneurs to start their business in the market. At the same time, the pop up push cart market will ev` entually become a highlight and attractions to New Yorkers.

INNOVATION

Thesis statement Future office will require a magic design strategy to help emphasize and reveal one’s irreplaceable qualification—innovation. This project supports mindfulness practice that restores one’s mind and inspires innovation through repetitive patterns and spaces to attract one’s observation to present. The magic obscure and distractive moments allow one’s mental calmness and rest, which help them to reorganize from everyday life.

Family story Grandpa: He is retired from Government Officer. He is very strict to his son, when his son is young, which makes estrangement between them. However, he plays a role to weave the family together and make the it cozy and relax to the youth. He is obsessed with cooking after retiring. He travels around the world to collect the kitchenware and learn various cuisines. Father: A successful lawyer, a well-known person. He is very busy. He spend most of his free time to gardening, which is a way to relax himself from the high-speed and intensive work. Because of his father’s good cooking. He invites his friend to his home on every Saturday night. Friends love the view facing to the brooklyn bridge and his father’s Ukulele. Wife: She is an illustrator. She works freetime whenever needed. She is quiet most of the time. However, she will argue with her husband about the cleaning. She is a little bit lazy, on the contrast, her husband has mysophobia. Child: He is naughty. He is fond of talking and playing outdoor games.

Open space

Spending time and playing with families is significant for both parents and children. However, having a big living room is luxurious in city like New York. A transformable sliding partition system can solve this challenge. Maximizing usage of each square footage to meet the diverse need of each family member at different time of a day. Initial furniture concept No matter how much the techonology influence the library’s function and new media infux in, Library is a place to read and allows reader a shor while to live in another world. However,The strangers around you and unexpected eye connection make people feel uncomfortable. An appropriate armature could ameliorate the situation, and create their own world.

21

Step 1 Step 2 Step 3

The chair To find a way that is most comfortable and feel secure to you is the main goal of the design. With 3 flexible joints, The chair allows user to pick a way to seat on, depending on various needs and mood. The movement of the chair follows the body construct to make you more relax. The different statuses also functions as a define of your ownn area, which provided more privacy.

GALLERY SPACE —— Doppler effect

Inspiration Inspired by an interesting phenomenon of sound: dop¬pler effect, the Pratt studio lobby is divided into four functional areas, each with a sequence. The overall spatial strategy is cohesive, each zone has its unique experience when users enter through. As circulation going on, what happens in the space will subtly change.

WOODWORKING PRACTICE —— CHINESE CABINET

Woodworking Through the woodworking practice, I realize it is more than making a product base on a drawing. Each wood piece has its own identity. How to represent it best is a skill that I’ve never considered. The final piece took more effort than I imagine, however, the effect is better than the initial drawing. Woodworking is about to make relationship to wood piece and meet surprise through

In order to understand orange better, I sliced it both longitudinally and latitudinally and at the same time documented them carefully. After the documentation, I found the centripetal system of orange. The process of studying a fruit helps me understand objects better. It influences me till now and let me know the importance of observation and documentation.
