Set the amount of time you spend with your child when sleeping. When you put your child to bed and spend time to read a book or tell a story make sure you only spend the decided time. This will help them get used to your leaving at night and help them sleep better.

Leave the water bottle on the bedside as children often demand water in the middle of the night. This will prevent them from using this as an excuse as they get used to the routine.

Give them something to hold onto like a toy or blanket. This will help them feel comforted and not feel alone while sleeping. This will help them sleep peacefully.

Make sure the room is dimly lit or doesn’t have any pictures that may be provoking a fear.
