Always ask questions. CEOs pave t he way f or business change by quest ioning processes and ideas. T hey come up wit h innovat ive ways of saving, creat ing, and doing. If you quest ion t he old processes, t hink out side t he box, and problem solve, you’ll be well on your way t o a unique ent repreneurship t hat brings client s f locking t o your door.

Be passionate.


You have t o love your work! You have t o f ind somet hing t hat you’re invest ed in, and let t hat passion drive you and your company, day in and day out . In such a compet it ive world, you need t o have t he ext ra drive t o persevere even when ot hers would st op. T his is what will make you a success. You need t o be a nat ural leader. One who can t ake on t he responsibilit y of mot ivat ing people and revolut ionizing t he business world. T his passion will also keep you f rom burning out t oo f ast and t oo soon.

Don’t let arrogance get in your way. No mat t er your skill level, t here is always more t o learn. You will never complet ely have a grasp on t he business world, no mat t er how many years of experience you have. Even t he oldest businessmen will t ell you t his. Know when you DON’T know somet hing, and learn how t o st ep back when you need t o. If you need t o learn more, t hen do so wit h grace. It ’s okay if you make mist akes or if you need t o learn more. You just need t o own up t o it and cont inue growing. T ake personal responsibilit y f or what you already know and what you need t o know.

Hire more experienced people as executives. T his is anot her place where you shouldn’t let arrogance get in your way. We see it all t he t ime in polit ics – t he President hires experienced people f or his cabinet , and dif f erent senat ors hire experienced people t o give polit ical advice. T he business world f unct ions much t he same way. You need t o have experienced prof essionals around t o give you business advice. T his way, you’ll have an army of knowledge at your f ingert ips.

Don’t try to brave this alone. T o be a success, you’ll need t he help of ot her people. T hough you’ll be at t he head of t he company, t here will be ot her support ers who will give t heir input . From your execut ives t o your f riends t o t he members of your f amily, you need t o have a support net work. Some of t hese people will help wit h business decisions, whereas ot hers will be around t o lend a helping hand when t he st ress just seems like t oo much. It is okay t o be a human CEO. A sense of humor, a deep root ed passion, t ransparency, f lexibilit y, and a st rong work et hic will do you much more good t han a brit t le image t hat can shat t er when t he f irst volley is launched.
