SUV Run to Yering Meadows Golf Club – A Long Time Between Drinks
Story & Photos: Reza Mohammed Sunday 13 March 2022
“I have been involved and attended many PCV events in my time as a member. I cannot recall a better, well-run and brilliant event as the SUV Run. The little things: the Google map links for the route, the briefing, the route, the lunch venue, the fact that the owners of the event welcomed us, the car parking, it just goes on and on. And then when my wife said, “oh that was so much fun – when’s the next one?”, you know you have a winner. Congratulations to all!”
– Post-run survey feedback from an attendee
After six long years, the SUV Register assembled with 12 cars, 20 adults, 2 kids, and a dog (surely a first for a PCV run!) in great anticipation for the drive ahead.
Post-briefing, suburbia gave way to the long, sweeping curves of Arthur’s Creek, the breathtaking horizon views of Yan Yean, and the verdant rolling hills of Humevale. After ~1hr 20mins of driving through stunning countryside, the group converged on Kinglake for a coffee break, in preparation for the next leg.
The towering gum trees and tight corners up to Glenburn, and then down through Myers Creek Road thrilled drivers as our Porsches roared to life.
After 145 exhilarating kilometres, the convoy entered Yering Meadows Golf Club. The VIP experience began with reserved parking for the eight Cayennes, three Macans, and two 911s.
A private dining room with a stunning view and a sumptuous two-course meal awaited the group after the long drive.
“It’s always great to meet our Porsche Club members! It’s not only impressive to hear their stories on success in life and how they found their love for Porsche, but it’s also good to catching up with our ‘brand ambassadors’ and listening to their feedback where we as a brand can further develop. A close collaboration between our Porsche Clubs and us is very important to me: it’s all about Porsche Family, and this is what we want to foster further.” – Daniel Schmollinger, CEO of Porsche Cars Australia, and new PCV member52 PORSCHE PARADE
Porsche Centre Brighton kindly sponsored Porschebranded yo-yos for all attendees, as well as door prizes of model SUVs. The proprietor of the golf club sponsored 18-hole golfing vouchers ($55 value) for all attendees!

The second Door Prize was won by new PCV member, Valerie Ogorodnyk. Richard Catchlove snagged the third Door Prize. In true Porsche spirit, David Rosenwax donated his Door Prize to Sacha Caller’s ecstatic son, making their first run even more special!
All smiles with the Porsche Club Victoria family!
The VIP experience continued with a photoshoot on the green and a magnificent backdrop. Glorious weather, a fun group of attendees, a stunning lunch venue, and VIP treatment made for a memorable day, and high anticipation for the next run in six months (definitely not six years!).
Thanks to the amazing team of organisers: (L-R) Paul Sbrissa, Jake Parsons, Reza Mohammed (on his first run as SUV Captain!) and Carly & Lisa back at HQ!
