change in plans Earlier this year, I received a save-the-date for a good friend who lives out of state. I don’t get to see him often, and I was delighted to see he and his fiancée had decided to get married in Little Rock. I stuck the notice on my fridge and felt a spark of happiness every time it caught my eye. The two beamed in the engagement photos they’d used for the postcard; their love for each other and anticipation Photo by Rett Peek for the big day was almost palpable through the paper. Unfortunately, those friends have had to rethink their plans in recent months. Chances are, if you’re reading this, you might be in the same boat. Whether it’s cutting down on the number of guests invited, eloping instead of holding a traditional ceremony, or rescheduling altogether, one thing is certain: Wedding prep looks different amid a pandemic. (In fact, so does wedding inspiration prep— we hit pause on production of this magazine for our Spring/Summer issue, and we’re so glad to be back with our Fall/Winter edition!) However, it’s important not to let the uncertainty get you down. After all, wedding prep is just that: preparation for one day. The sentiment we heard time and again from brides and grooms featured in this issue was it didn’t matter so much how they got married, but who was by their side. So while we encourage you to let go of the aspects of the future you can’t control (and, of course, to proceed with appropriate safety precautions in mind), we also hope you get to enjoy the planning process, no matter where you are in your journey. This issue is packed with fun, beautiful, and creative design elements that are sure to make your special day memorable, whenever and wherever it may be. Best wishes!
