Rosa Jijon

Quito 1968 Maria RosaJijon - Ecuadorian artist and activist, working with photo, video, sound and public interventions.Studied in Ecuador, Cuba and Sweden. Live in Rome, Italy since year 2000. Coordinator at CAC, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Quito, 2013-2015. Cultural Secretary at IILA-Organizzazione Internazionale Italo-Latino Americana 2016-2020. My work deals with the idea of being a foreigner and with human mobility in migratory contexts, hence it is based on mutual exchange and collaboration with grassroots groups and local migrant and human rights organizations. Active member of Rete G2, second generatio migrants in , Italy. Have collaborated in various workshops on social and urban interventions with Michelangelo Pistoletto’s Cittadellarte Foundation. Member of El Puente Collective and Aequatorlab Collective. Associate of the research team of FLACSO (Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales _ Ecuador) on youth street organisations were I coordinated video and documentary production.
