Feature Model: Katina Cazalet Photography By: Kei Frequency Interview By: Rosa Rhiadra

I am so very excited to introduce our feature model this month, Katina Cazalet. One of the sweetest and kind people I have met in Second Life, it’s always a pleasure to work with her. Of all the flattering things you are going to say, this one is the one I value the most and I hope it’s true. Always a pleasure to work with you, Rosa. Many of you will recognize her from The Sexiest Pornstars group and a past “Sexiest Award Winner.” She is also an officer and manager at Club Erotique. Katina, thank you for agreeing to be our feature model for the December issue of Provocative Magazine. It’s a dream come true! A cliché, I know, but it is true. I am truly elated. I am a big fan of the magazine format, and you guys at Pro•voc•a•tive know how to capture the glamorous allure of a RL publication. You have been affiliated with the Sexiest Pornstars group for as long as I can remember. This is one of largest porn groups in Second Life with over 1200 members. Would you talk to us a little bit about working with such a large group and what you enjoy the most about it?

It brings me something that I like in my Second Life, and that I didn’t have before: a community to follow. Familiar faces (some have been in this way longer than me) that in my mind and for many others are ‘stars’, and at the same time every day someone new who is drawn in. For different reasons: some are fueled by their passion for the joys of sex in SL (I am told it’s a rather popular activity, have you heard the same?) and want to live ‘the Pornstar life’ showing off, some are more focused on their appreciation for visual arts with a bit of a spice, some others simply know or met someone who is a part of the group and want to see what’s it about. It’s interesting, and there is plenty for everyone to see and enjoy. The only downside to such a large group is that it’s impossible to get to know everyone, work with everyone, and no guarantee for everyone to have their spot in the sun, but then again, that doesn’t happen even with smaller groups. It’s life. If you put enough passion in what you do, but not as much as to become obsessed with concepts as ‘fame’ and ‘success’ - which have to be put *heavily* into perspective in SL - then you are going to have fun and you can indeed feel

‘like a star’. What’s not to love about it? Soon Emmanuelle will be gearing up for the “Sexiest Awards” in which many of our talented colleagues will be recognized for their amazing work. As a past winner, what can you tell us about being nominated and participating? How did you feel to win? That’s exactly what I was talking about. Winning the award for Best Newcomer in 2012 was fun, and I will always thank the director who made it possible (Serenity Kristan), and the friend who produced the movie and wanted me for the part, Emeelee Ember. To have such wonderfully produced yearly award show is a thrill, and being part of it was a joy. I was truly thrilled by the nomination; I went through all the steps of looking for dress, bla bla, playing the role of a ‘star’. The year after, I didn’t get any nomination despite the applications, and my life went happily on as always. It was an even better year for me with lots more for me personally to be proud of and happy for. You have to be enjoying what you are making and being part of, simply for what it is. Awards are just the icing on the cake. ►

You also work at Club Erotique as an officer and manager. As a member, I have enjoyed many Pornstar parties at the club, but I enjoyed the photography contests the most. Would you talk a little about the club, the parties and contests? Club Erotique is the lovechild of my friends Lou and Sere, or Serenity and Louise Kristan-Faulds as you might know them. I said before that what I love in the Pornstars group is having a community to follow and I didn’t have that before: all my love and interest for it came through Serenity’s work. I knew her and her-then-just-business-partner Louise before they got into porn, and it was following Sere’s blogging during a break from being actively in world that I took interest in something Second Life related again. So, to me, Erotique is and will always be my family above everything. I am not exactly a party-goer these days, but every time I am amazed by how consistent and inventive the resident DJ of Erotique Yana is: she designed a very flexible system to customize the club for themed events, and so you know when you drop by that you might be in for a surprise. As for the photo contests, it’s Louise’s concept and implementation. She is very inventive with themes and I suggest waiting for the next round, which will be announced at http://cluberotiqueblog.blogspot.com ►

DECEMBER 2014 | PROVOCATIVE MAGAZINE | VOL. 1 ISSUE 3

As a model, you have worked with your share of photographers and movie producers in Second Life. What are some characteristics of good photographers that strike you as important? I am a terrible model, but I have been lucky enough so far, not many noticed. It might sound like a cop-out answer, but I appreciate diversity, and I don’t have an ideal photographer. I am absolutely blessed with my partner Marika, who is patient, very efficient with time, and takes care of everything while still valuing input from the model. But I don’t mind at all posing for long, I don’t mind having to actively look into poses and such, and certainly I don’t mind photographers who have a very rigid idea of the photo which possibly doesn’t match my own. When I commit to a project as a model, in the end it’s my duty to help the artist bring out their vision. The only characteristic I need in a photographer is to be patient a bit with my nasty crashes. I try my best not to mess up and waste everybody’s time, but sometimes I just can’t help it. Do you have any special plans for the upcoming year that you want to tell us about? Besides being at the party for the first anniversary of Pro•voc•a•tive? No, no plans, I like to be surprised. Thank you again for being the Provocative feature model for this issue. It’s always a pleasure to work with you! Pleasure is all mine, but not to be greedy, let’s share some! ♥

Find a concept or vision that moves you and practice. Study the art of other artists and work to finding your own style, doing it first for you before ever worrying about the perception of others. And, most importantly, never feel limited with what you can achieve because the only real boundary imposed is the extent of what you can imagine.

Spotlight Feature: Rachel Christine Avro Photography by: Angel Marenwolf Rachel tell us about your professional aspirations in Second Life. My aspiration would be a top model in Second Life, as well, as an actress. I would like to be featured on the cover of the top magazines. I am also working on my skills as a photographer and would love to start producing my own pictures. I love the sensual black and white photographs. What would you like our readers to know about you? I love being a model. It is a thrilling experience to be before a camera and have that one person focus purely on you. I am open to all types of modeling from cover shots to pornographic modeling. When I am not modeling, I love to go ballroom dancing or to get down and shake a bit in a jazz or blues club. I like the crooners as well as the blues like BB King. Some of my new favorites are Lady Gaga and Diana Krall. I am a quiet shy girl that prefers women in my life but right now no one special and I do date the occasional guy. Feature Couple: G and Amia Edlemann Photography By: Raelin Jestyr

“I think to be provocative is to look or dress in a way that everyone wants you, or at least most.” ~ Amia Edelmann “To me, Provocative is sexy yet classy in an exciting way. I think Marilyn Monroe is the definition of provocative. [In those photos] Playboy bought and published before she was famous, she was sexy classy and exciting.” ~ G. Edelmann G & Amia: Portrait of a Virtual Romance By Raelin All the best relationships are hard work. Anyone who tells you differently is either still in the throws of new love, or just naive. Every relationship takes some effort to help it along. Some give and take. As well as, mutual respect will always need to go hand-in-hand with the burning passions and sexual desires. It doesn’t matter if that relationship is in Second Life or out in the Real Life. It is possible to argue the differences of a virtual relationship to a real one. However, when it comes to the basics of love, respect and compatibility, the core principles are exactly the same. The trick is finding a way to navigate the perilous path to a happy relationship. I was recently spending some time G and Amia E. in a quaint winter cabin. As we spent a late night discussing relationships by the fire, I had

realized that one could draw four simple rules on building a strong relationship from this happily married couple. 1) NEVER BE AFRAID TO TAKE THAT FIRST LEAP: It’s always been my experience that the best relationships find you when you least expect it. But, sometimes you have to make that first move when you find yourself captivated by someone new and interesting. How did you meet? AMIA: We met at a dance club called Grind’s. G: Well, I was drug out by my German friend, Sandy, to the event she was hosting at Grind. I had not said a word in local when Amia said, “Ni

Ni.” I picked on her a bit and she took it well. Then Sandy, after multiple pushes to ask Amia to dance, succeeded in getting me to ask her to dance. That’s how we met. Aww that’s sweet! G: Hmm…one or two words [to describe our] first meeting? I wasn’t looking for someone, but I was intrigued and impressed. Oh! Those are good words. Amia…How about you? AMIA: I thought he was amazingly sweet. How did you all decide to partner? G: Well, we really hit it off and would have partnered and married sooner if it was up to her. But, I wanted to wait to make sure the feelings

were real and made her wait a few months before I asked her. AMIA: Yeah. 2) SHARING COMMON GOALS CAN BRING YOU CLOSER: Sure, this might be a no-brainer, but who doesn’t love it when they can share the excitement of a new experience with someone they care about. Or, knowing that someone is helping you work towards something you want to achieve. So, were you also involved in the Second Life Porn or Adult Erotica industry, Amia? AMIA: Not when I met G, no..... actually I’ve only been into it for a few weeks. ►

DECEMBER 2014 | PROVOCATIVE MAGAZINE | VOL. 1 ISSUE 3

How did that conversation go? It tends to be an interesting conversation starter. G: I think it went well. I am up front, open and honest about it. I tell people I am in it and tend to answer any questions they have. AMIA: Well...of course, I seen it on his profile, obviously it didn’t bother me, but I was curious about it. We talked a lot, about what the industry was like. Do you all have a goal for your Second Life as a couple? Like… more porn work, or run a club or something? G: My goal is for her to experience all she wants in Second Life. I have been here for a while. I have managed clubs and don’t want to own one. So, for now, I guess more porn work for her and I is about it as far as a goal. AMIA: I would like more work in the porn industry, but I think there has to be a balance too, so that our relationship stays strong. Have you guys done any shoots together? AMIA: just one G: Yes, Ali did a good one of us the other day. It was for SL Porn Blog and the Flicker should be out later in the week. http://secondlifeporn. blogspot.com/2014/12/the-pickupartist.html 3) HAVE A PLAN FOR HANDING POTENTIAL PROBLEMS BEFORE THEY HAPPEN: While this rule would be helpful in any type of relationship, I like to call this the “Prior planning prevents pissed-off Pornstars” rule since

anyone who has spent even a little time in the Adult-Themed Arts has probably encountered situations that tested their relationships or seen it happen to someone else. The Porn Industry and actually Second Life in general aren’t easy on relationships. Do you have any tips or things that work for you guys too keep your relationship on track? AMIA: Be honest. That helps a lot. G: Yes, be open and honest about all things. And, take porn for what it is. Work. Don’t get caught up wanting to sleep with everyone you do a shoot with. AMIA: As far as in the porn industry, I think G and I both are comfortable in ourselves. That doesn’t mean there might be a shoot or a movie that I would choose not to do if I thought it might cause us issues. But, if I ask, he needs to be honest with his feelings. Just like I have to, too. 4) CELEBRATE UNIQUENESS OF EACH OTHER: This makes perfect sense since it was probably the uniqueness that drew you to your partner in the first place. It is also these shared quirks that build intimacy in a relationship. It is an act of trust to show someone your unvarnished or vulnerable self. So, G. Can you tell me one thing that most people might not know about Amia? AMIA: giggles G: Amia has been in Second Life before and was a stripper/escort.

VOL. 1 ISSUE 3 | PROVOCATIVE MAGAZINE | DECEMBER 2014

When she came back, she decided to try fresh and not have anything to do with her past life here. AMIA: I shop a lot, probably more than I should. I spent a lot of time following a few DJ’s I met when I came back. Amia, can you tell me something about G that most people wouldn’t know about him. AMIA: hmmmm G: I’m a nerd. AMIA: giggles...I wasn’t gonna say that, but I was thinking it. G: Ok I will shush AMIA: Um, well he has a way of kind of making my toes curl...like way tight. G: Uh oh she’s going to tell all my secrets. AMIA: I won’t elaborate I guess. Well now you’re going to have everyone wondering exactly how!

AMIA: giggles G: Something interesting and sexy about Amia is her personality is flirty, fun, and exciting. I don’t mind her being flirty. It’s great fun in my opinion but she’s shy at first. She has to get to know people first. AMIA: I watch a lot. Sometimes my sarcastic sense of humor can come across totally wrong. AMIA: I just thought about something people don’t know about us. G: Go ahead baby. What’s that? AMIA: okies…I wear G’s collar...not for what it means to some or maybe even most here...I wear it invisible. I kind have trust issues and to me, that is my way of showing my trust to him because he has complete control over me here. Where I go. What I do. Etc. ►

AMIA: I am kind of at his mercy. I guess, but by him, not having or ever even using any of it...It also shows his trust in me. AMIA: I love the feeling of trust...and he’s teaching me lots about it. G: I have the power to use it but I don’t because I don’t need to feed a power trip and because she’s submissive but not really a sub. We don’t really do D/S but to her that shows her trust in me.

No one can tell you exactly how to build a better relationship; every person and every situation is different. And, even if you put in your best effort, any relationship can hit some bumps or spin off the road. There are some basic truths that can help along the way. And, I’ve found that doesn’t hurt to talk to couples who are making it work. They are clearly doing something right. ♥

Feature Builder: Alina Animations Photography: Rosa Rhiadra

Some people did manage, with their hard work and ideas, to create a “famous” status among other residents. We all know they work hard but who is person behind all that creation. Today, I will try to make one of those well know persons bit closer and more “human” to you, my dear readers. Alina Graf, Owner of Alina Animations store and co-owner of Libido sim is one of most popular and respected furniture makers in Second Life. We all know her work, but not many of us know her. Hard worker, dear friend and a person not spoiled by fame and money, the one and only Alina Graf :)

Pleasure to have you, Alina and thank you for accepting my invitation for this interview :) It’s my pleasure, Ed. All know of your work and furniture, it’s mega popular for good reasons, but not many know you as person. So let’s present Alina to our readers now. How did you hear about and end up in Second Life in first place please? I read about Second Life from a magazine. It was 2006 and Second Life was very popular because it was new. So, I tried to make my first avatar... this one :) Wow! Still on your original avi? Not many of us here are. What happened after you created your account? I walked around as a noob for a while of course, but found soon many who helped me to improve myself. So, this is almost my original shape, I mean made in 2006.

the animations where I was forced to play. There weren’t many combinations at that time and rarely I could find the one I want to play in that moment. For example, 69 positions were only from Strokez animations, a side 69. :) I couldn’t find an up-down 69 in first times. So, that triggered you to make your own animation for first time. Yes, but I even was ready to start building anything at that time. And, I was very interested in animations. The animations give the life to our avatars, it’s as if being a puppeteer and making others move, as you like :) So, I started to study on forums about what program to use to make animations. I’m not a computer graphic professional as many other builders here, and I started all from scratch. I decided to use Poser to learn animations. And, started to make my first ones, which were lay poses for a lounge.

So, for first years I was a normal avatar, exploring and having experiences and friends around. I left Second Life for a while in 2007 In that time, I was into modeling too. Catand I came back in 2008 walking. When did you start to think about animations and building and what made you go that way? Well, I made my actual friends in this my second Second Life, in 2008 - 2009. I had a lot of Second Life sex before that and I started to think that I didn’t like very much

That must be hard, did any one help you out, show you few things? No, I learned all by myself. I started with lay poses and model stand poses, because I was following a cat-walking course too. So, I first made my model AO; my very first product. ►

Ok, when I started the sex poses, movement was very simple: in any pose, there were two positions, up and down, with a single rhythm. I thought to make it more animated.

Did you sell that product anywhere?

What lead you ers and magazine readers tell me that I have to ask you. First, how do you to it? make your animations look so alive and realistic? Yes, at first I opened a small corner

So, I introduced variations in movement and speed. The pose starts slow, and then accelerates, and then slows again. The upper part of the body move separately from legs. For example, changing positions for an arm or hand, and of course the head goes by itself. This gives the animation much more realism. But, I think that the sequence of animations and menus are very important too, the way the user pass from a starting pose, to a tease one, to finally a hard sex and cum one. It like playing a story, a role-play inside the furniture and during the sexual act. You sure did make them look amazing. :) The second thing that our

readers want to know is why Alina doesn’t do any Bondage/BDSM animation? Well, when I develop an animation set for a furniture, I try imagining being on that furniture. So, I design the poses according to a “movie” I play into my head. If on a couch, I imagine sitting with a partner or more, start talk, lounge, tease, etc. I must be excited to play that sequence. And, I made some fetish and “specialistic” pose sets too. For example, I made a foot fetish sofa for girls. The main reason I develop an animations set is I must be excited to play that sequence. And, BDSM doesn’t excite me. I like forced sex, hard sex and any gender combinations but not the Dom/Sub thing very much. Even if I know they’ll sell good on market. ►

That is explained well. What our readers and your customers can expect from Alina in future?

swer to each notecard or IM I get. Then, of course, I find tome to have some fun myself :)

Well, I’ll upgrade my products of course. And, I’ll develop new ones according with new ideas I’ll have or customers and friends give me. I took many ideas and suggestions from customers of mine. The Dinner Table, for example, was a customer idea. They wanted a romantic table where it gets hotter and has sex too. It was very original, so I made it. Now, I’m making new living room furniture, and some bed mesh upgrade will follow.

Awesome :) is there anything else that you would like to say and share with our readers please? :)

Making a sex bed engine took me almost 4 months of work and I find the strength from positive opinions of my customers most. Thank you! Best wishes to you and your store in new 2015 then and Merry Christmas. Thank you for this relaxing and friendly interview :) Thanks to you, Ed.

Feature Fashion: ZED Sensations Modeling & Photography by Partee First thing I would love to ask is how you got involved with Second Life? What drew you in if you don’t mind me asking? Well, my real life husband was here first discovering each world that was made on the Internet. I was on imvu talking to my friends and he demanded (in a nice manner) I come here to be with him because he loved the graphics on Second Life. That was 3 1/2 years ago right? Yes and he gave us the dream wedding on here I couldn’t

have when we first got married in real life. It is a very romantic reason why I arrived here. That does sound so romantic! We have been married 24 years now. Oh congratulations! Thank you. Second Life is really a nice place to come to. There are always pros and cons concerning virtual worlds but if the positive is used well, this place is very beneficial if people have a realistic outlook on it.

I am curious, what led to your developing your clothing? What inspired you? Did you do anything similar in real life or was this an outfit for your creative impulses? I have always been in graphic designing and I owned a lingerie store here where we live, designing and making my own lingerie and bikinis. I can understand how the transition was very natural for you then. Now, I have combined both and create freely here. I basically have an idea of what I want and like so I make it. Although there are clothing designs close to what I want, it’s not exactly my taste of what I actually wear myself in real. Along those lines, I was wondering what would you say is your style or guiding principle for your work? My guiding principle is the woman herself. I believe a woman should be allowed to be as beautiful as she desires. My personality is a combination of sensuality and still having dignity. I believe Zed has done that with flair and elegance. Myself, when I put on a new Zed gown, I marvel at how I look. I suspect that is what you seek. Yes, that is how a woman is supposed to feel. The feeling must be uplifting and giving her a certain sense of power over herself. So, I was wondering about your catering to the needs of those in Second Life who wear appliers for their breasts etc. So many shops do not yet. What brought you to provide appliers for your clothes? It is an alphabet soup out there now with Tangos, Mirage, Delicq, Phat Azz, Banned, Belleza, Wowmeh, Eve, Slink, TMP and Lena. Hmmm I have always looked for the better body and I thought if I do that so many must as well. So, I do my best to put appliers in as much as I can to help out, honestly they don’t pay for them, I only include them. ►

Well, IT would be to no avail without delicious clothes to wear. Hmm, that’s true. They go hand in hand :) Along the lines of providing for many different mesh bodies, you also provide many add-on prims that give your clothes amazing depths. I was wondering how you feel about that. The add-on prims give life to an outfit or gown. It is like you would make a gown in real life. You look for the most 3-D effect possible. How difficult do you find providing these prims? Well, before I had to depend on other prim making artists to get what I needed for my ideas to implement them to exactly what I wanted, but the outcome is always worth it. So, you make your own prims now? Yes…From head-to-toe. Keila is one of them. [Keila is a new gown, which she has just put out]. My skirts I have always made and remodified on my own to get my own desired effect. You offer all sorts of different types of clothing. Do you have any particular preferences for what you like to work on: dresses, gowns, lingerie? Gowns and lingerie, but I like all of my work. Every outfit is a reflection of myself and mood. I have to have a desire and inspiration to make it. One of my favorites is the Arabian theme.

I only charge if its bodies I don’t represent because I can’t go buying every body out there. For example, if someone with a body I don’t know comes to me and asks me to please make, it’s time consuming to make them. I am amazed at is the breadth of what you supply. Oh, I challenge myself a lot. I push to keep making all kinds of things, though these past 3 months have been really slow. Some companies I have been interested in making for but their applier system makes us put our templates on their website so I refrained. I make my own

templates, textures, etc. so I am unwilling to put my work on their sites. But, I have only so many hours in a day and just making all these appliers for all of these bodies can take hours. It’s sad though as I do try to support as many as possible. Well, I can say that you provide broad support for so many. I really do admire how these body mesh makers work so hard to produce bodies to satisfy the women, its really very hard work.

Oh yes Deliah for example. [Partee switches to the Deliah dancer outfit]. Oh [you] have the gold one on. It looks really lovely on you. I had to show you since you had mentioned it. Awww and I am smiling. Which brings me to another item: your choice of colors and textures are also so vivid. I can imagine that is both fun and so difficult to accomplish. Well, the clothing has to stand out and be alive. It is why we have to love what we are doing.

How is mesh being working for you? What do you think of fitted mesh? I think it’s fantastic and it’s something I really want to master. It is better than rigged mesh and fits to your shape mostly and you can reshape the outfit to your liking [whereas with] rigged you cannot. Along those lines what do you think of omega? Have you found it useful and has it simplified things if you use it? I think omega has helped many people who purchase clothing, but I still feel that I have to make for individual bodies at times because to guarantee the appliers will work. That sounds very reasonable and prudent on your part. It’s a lot of work but one still has to think of the clients. I still make appliers for Wowmeh even though it’s gone now. oh well, that sounds like you have a very customer oriented approach. I do my best to be. I do care for the customers of course. I feel bad for some when I cant get a design out for some of them because their bodies don’t give, but also I cannot stop making the design I have in mind because of that. I am taunted by my designs. You have to balance what is in your mind’s eye with what can be practically done. I’ll get a repeating image in my head battering me to make it. It’s crazy but true but when you depend on the other fantastic artists out there, you depend on what they produce. That is why I was determined to start making my own, but don’t forget we cannot close on the idea of those creators because they are so important to Second Life and designers as well. Shifting to another topic, I was curious about what percentage of clothes do you sell in the Marketplace as opposed to inworld. Your store seems so extensive and well thought out. Do you have many people roaming in-world and buy something in the store? Honestly, I sell more in the Marketplace but in-world is so important. That is why my husband designed the sim and store and people need beautiful places to come to. Well he has done a marvelous job, I enjoy roaming in the store but admittedly, sometimes I need to find something quick so it is the Marketplace I often turn to.

I was wondering how much you involve Zed in any of the fairs or clothing events? I have done a few this year, but I couldn’t join these past 3 months. I am hoping next year will be better for me and I will do my best to do more. I did a lot with Siren Productions but then I had to stop for now.

ing or what pops up in my head. I don’t follow trends, I am bad at that (hahaha) so I always go my own direction and I never know when or how. I am very emotional as a person so my work will give you an idea what I was feeling when I made it.

Thank you so much for letting me talk to you. Well, last question, what directions do you see I hope I was somewhat helpful for your interview. I am yourself taking if you have any in mind at this quite a reserved person but I am friendly. I am really time? not used to all of this so please forgive me but I am Hmmmmm I don’t know, it depends whatever I am feel- excited and honored though. ♥
