I am pleased to announce that Bianca and Walter Gedenspire have joined the Rose Art Galleries team. Bianca, as Curator, will take a major role in curating new art for the galleries as well as managing receptions and gallery events. Walter, as Communications Director, ensures that each artist is well represented in group notices and will work with Bianca in handling events communications.

Building the galleries is and always has been my passion—I suspect it will be until I expire. As of November 13th, I have taken on the position of Curator for the Paris Metro Art Gallery. Walter Gedenspire The Consummate Gentleman I
"Although entirely devoid of any talent, I am an art maven, haunting galleries and openings in Second Life. In addition, I am proud to count many Second Life artists among my friends. To me, the multiplicity of media that artists explore in Second Life is not only challenging and enlightening, but perhaps also its most attractive aspect. I am proud to play, however small, a part in that artistic life. "Actually, the one artistic endeavour that I partake in is dancing. I am a dancer and manager in the Flapperettes, a troupe based in 1920s Berlin. And I know firsthand the hard work that goes into any activity in the arts. Photo by Bianca Gedenspire
"My partner Bianca and I are Walter Gedenspire establishing our own gallery in Paris 1900 and to some rdegree we regard our work at the Rose Gallery as a kind of apprenticeship. Thank you Kylie Sabra for giving us that opportunity."
Walter Gedenspire, Director Of Communications
Bianca Gedenspire Never Stop Growing I am honored to be a part of The Rose Theatre & Art Gallery team. Being a resident artist is beyond my dreams. Working with the very talented Executive Curator, Kylie Sabra, I learn every day from her capable and patient teaching. The dedication of my partner Captain Sir Walter Gedenspire to the communications of the Gallery is a major bonus for all of us. My real life background is in the arts, event planning, television production, and wine and spirits sales. Bringing a little dash of my real life skills to The Rose will be a joy. I look forward to meeting new people. Feel free to stop by The Rose Theatre & Art Galleries and say hello. Bianca Xavorin Gedenspire
Even with managing three distinct galleries, we find time to enjoy our Second Lives.

"I grew up in a happy home filled with music, laughter and oodles of love. I studied at the Philadelphia College of Art and the Chester County Yellow Springs Studio. Other studies include 12 years of piano and extensive study in dance.
"I strive to create a picture that captures a subject’s soul, tells a story and emulates a feeling. Creating special sets from scratch is a passion for me. Ripping apart my sim to create the perfect atmosphere is nothing new.
"I like to say I am a protege' of Graham Collinson but have developed into my own style.
"By the way. I have a craving for happiness. I hope it is contagious."
Bianca Gedenspire, Curator
“Passionate about words and images, Second Life has allowed me to give new dimension to my passions, poetry and photography. ”Exploring new horizons in Second Life, I shape my images in the colors of my feelings and if I appropriate the meaning of what I look at it with respect and in communion with their creator then I give them a new light. “My photos tell a story. They reflect the emotions within me, with either happiness or sadness, explosion of joy or dismay. They always are created with the same intense passion. I like to mix old with modern or futuristic styles as it is a continuity, because everything feeds on what it was, like a state of soul—a timeless landscape. My designs are often both powerful and gentle, they open the door to the imagination. “When I make a picture, time is no longer valid; the constraints no longer exist, I am inspired, I fly. ‘A watercolor', Pratt said, 'is not only a story. It is the translation of a feeling, a memory, a state of mind.’ The same goes for these images: just the translation of a memory, a mood, and support of a dream. And dreaming is an art; dreaming is a necessity.” Olympe

Benjamin Glendale
A longtime resident, Ben explores Second Life and takes snaps of his adventures—primarily for his own enjoyment, but also to share with others. Ben doesn't confine himself to one form of image over another, he takes photographs as inspired by his surroundings and the events taking place. His objective is to capture the immersion we feel in Second Life and the fact it is full of locations, spaces and people that transport us. As a gay man, some of Ben's pictures are taken at the beautiful and imaginative places created for and by other LGBT people. One of his aims is to give these places a platform to be seen by other SL residents, because of the hard work and wonderful results achieved by their creators. The collection at The Rose Theater & Art Gallery presents nine images, that use lack of colour to convey the mood present at the location in which the image was captured and to transport the viewer to a time when lack of colour in photography was the norm rather than the exception.
Fingol Greyhaven
When I visit a place, the first thing I do is turn the light settings to midday, move the camera around until I have ‘the view’that view that stops me, and I let the feelings flow. In a matter of seconds I have the picture composed in my mind. Then I adjust the windlight settings to match the image I see in my mind and feelings I am having. This show is part of my 365 Projecta picture a day, for a year. I don’t post process the pictures for this project. What you see is exactly what I see through the lens of my Second Life camera. This photocontest is brought to you by the Lefevre & Hernandoz Foundation, in cooperation with Fire Island Gay Beach, RGF Estates, Master S&M Estates and The Angel Manor Estate. Good luck and thank you for all your support in 2013.
FIGB Winter 2013 Photo Contest The theme could not be easier, yet challenging. The top five entries receiving the most votes, will be submitted to a jury of ten educated, experienced and representative Second Life artists, publisher, live perfomer, manager, business owner and entertainer. The photocontest will find its highlight in the Grand Christmas Ball at the Rose Theatre Ballroom. The Angel Manor Estate is a complex structure of six sims—the largest palace on the Second Life Grid, embodying the famed Rose Theater, the awarded Rose Galleries, the Opera house, the large and open residence of the Angel Family and luxurious prime apartment rentals within the palace. Besides the palace, which is hard to overlook, there are large park areas, now covered by snow. They provide romantic and dramatic winter scenes. At every turn you´ll find angles for wonderful and breathtaking winter pictures.
Shoot for the Cause The money collected by the contest entries and votes, and from the tips of the Christmas Ball, goes into the L&H
