Shoe Drive Shoe Drive to aid micro-businesses in poor countries Church of the Palms UMC is conducting a shoe drive through April 30 to raise funds for their choir to perform at a special concert in NY City. Collected shoes will then be sent to micro-entrepreneurs in developing countries. Shoes will be collected at my house (183 Whiteoaks Circle) in a bin labeled Second Chance placed by the front door. I will take to the church. Church of the Palms is partnering with Funds2Orgs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing economic opportunities in developing countries. The organization collects shoes that might otherwise end up in landfills and recycles them to small businesses in poor countries. Funds2Orgs (Funds2Orgs.com) works with these entrepreneurs helping then create, maintain and grow their small businesses to feed, clothe and house their families. By donating one’s gently worn, used and new shoes to this effort, the shoes are given a second chance to make a difference in people’s lives around the world. Thank you for making a difference! Bea Fuller – proud resident of Rose Hill and its caring neighbors. beabluffton@hargray.com
