Flechtmuster sind Eyecatcher der neuen Rosenthal Linie „Kumi“. Inspiriert von Handwerkskunst bei Körben, Lederhandtaschen oder Möbeln, setzt Kumi auf die filigrane Optik geflochtener Stoffe. Namensgeber der neuen Kollektion ist „Kumihimo“: eine traditionelle japanische Technik, bei der Garne, Bänder und Kordeln kunstvoll miteinander verflochten werden. Die Linie, bestehend aus Brot-, Frühstücks-, Speise- und Suppenteller sowie Müslischale und Becher, ist aus Silikat-Porzellan, einem besonders bruch- und kantenschlagfestem Material, das zugleich leicht transparent ist. Die Serie ist in sanften Farben White Tone, Blue Tone, Mint Tone und Rose Tone erhältlich. Die sehr flache Fahne sowie die Schüsseln außen bleiben unglasiert und akzentuieren die lebendige und filigrane Flechtstruktur.

Woven patterns are the eye-catchers of the new Rosenthal “Kumi” line. Inspired by artisanal handcraft of producing baskets, leather handbags and furniture, Kumi focuses on the delicate look of hand-woven fabrics. The new collection is named after “Kumihimo”: a traditional Japanese technique in which yarns, ribbons and cords are artfully woven together. The line, consisting of bread plates, breakfast plates, dinner plates, soup plates, cereal bowls and mugs, is made of silicate porcelain, a material that is highly resistant to breakage and impact and is also slightly transparent. The series is available in soft shades of white tone, blue tone, mint tone and rose tone. The very flat rim and the outside of the bowls remain unglazed and accentuate the lively and delicate woven structure.
