Listed below are all of the items you will need to lead the activities as they are designed in this book. However, you may eliminate and add as you desire. Some activities call for more supplies than others, so you may select the activity that best meets your class time and available materials. Check off the items on the list below as you gather them. All activities calling for "tape" in the materials lists require the clear type of tape.
We are planning many special craft activities for your child. Some of these crafts include regular household items. We would like to ask your help in saving the items checked below for our activities.

Putting God's Word into our hearts and minds is very important as we grow in years and in the Lord. Children hear and learn memory verses at Sunday schoot children's church and other groups. But do they know how those Scriptures affect their lives and why God wants us to know them? Learning what memory verses mean - and the Bible stories they are from - is important! Each activity in Teaching Children Memory Verses focuses on a specific Scripture for your children to memorize. Through crafts, garnes, puzzles and other projects your kids will find it easier to learn the verses and the stories behind them. And they will take horne their craft or worksheet so they can continue to learn Scripture even after class has ended. Every lesson in this book includes an age-appropriate memory verse, Bible story, Bible truth and step-by-step instructions for the activity. Use the reproducible patterns as many times as you need to make copies or patterns. Be sure to say the memory verse several times during class as the children work, play, sing and learn about God's Word. Pre-cut pattern pieces for younger toddlers. Older toddlers, who are learning to master their motor skills, will like using safety scissors to cut their own crafts. Have a few extra copies on hand in case of cutting mistakes! Most toddlers will enjoy at least scribble-coloring the pictures. If some of your children do not want to color, have them trace the pictures with their fingers, or provide a coloring alternative, such as sponge painting with tinted water (use food coloring). May God continue to bless you as you teach His Word to His children!

Duplicate page 12 for each child. Cover both sides of each picture with clear self-stick plastic. Make the finger paints. Men's old shirts work well for paint smocks. To make the finger paints, mix together 1 cup of liquid starch, 112 cup of liquid soap and 6 cups of warm water, then add food coloring to achieve desired colors. Stir well.
.. Give each child a pattern page covered in the clear plastic. 2. Tell the story of creation from Genesis 1:1-2:3. 3. Have the children point to the pictures of God's creation on their papers. 4. Ask, What are some things God made? Yes, rocks, apples, lizards. Let's look out the window to see some other things God made. The Bible says that God created everything. What do you see in the picture that God made? What other things did God make? 5. Help the children put on paint smocks to protect their clothing from the paint. 6. Let each child choose a color of paint to use and put a small amount on the child's picture. 7. Show the children how to paint with their fingers. Say, Use your fingers to paint the picture of some things God made. 8. Wash the paint from the pictures in clear or soapy water. 9. Save the pictures for the next class time or send them home for the children to color. 11

t. Give each child a pattern page. 2. Tell the story of the flood and God's promise from Genesis 6-9. 3. Ask, Has someone ever made you a promise? How does it make you feel when someone keeps a promise? God ALWAYS keeps His promises. 4. Help the children fold the page in half. S. Have the children glue pieces of colorful cereal in each section of both rainbows. 6. Slip a two-foot length of yarn through the folded edge of each page. Tie the yarn at the top of each to form hangers. 1. Place a piece of tape at the top and bottom of each side to hold the folded pages together. 8. Have the children hold their rainbows up high and praise God for His promises.

God gave Isaac a happy family. God gives us happy families, too. 4. Have the children color the pictures of Sarah, Abraham and Isaac. S. Help the children glue the rectangles onto the background, matching the numbers to indicate where each picture should go (the baby is glued on top of Abraham and Sarah). 6. When the pictures are finished, have the children point to each figure as you retell the story. Ask, Can you find the daddy? His name is Abraham. Can you find the mommy? Her name is Sarah. What is the baby's name? Yes, it is Isaac. God gave Isaac a happy family. 1. Read the memory verse to the children while they hold their pictures of the happy family.

Help the children form a circle with their strips, taping them together. 8.
