ANA: OF DREAMS, PATIENCE AND REALISATIONS 8 JULY-7 AUGUST 2010 TUESDAY TO SATURDAY, 1PM-6PM

In Arabic, ‘Ana’ means ‘I’, ‘me’, and the ‘self’. It suggests taking responsibility and initiative, action rather than expectation, self-reliance and self-awareness. Over the last five years, the Egyptian-German artist Susan Hefuna has played on the word ‘Ana’ in a variety of media: video, textiles, bronze sculptures and wooden mashrabiya screens. Now for Rose Issa Projects she has produced an intimate and elegant display of cast-bronze silver screens, watercolours and ink drawings.
