LIVE PERFORMANCE THAT EDUCATES, INSPIRES, AND ENTERTAINS

APRIL 2025 BRAMPTONONSTAGE.CA
OCTOBER 2024 –

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Brampton’s performing arts venues are located on the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, these lands are also the traditional territories of the Wendat and Haudenosaunee peoples. For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples inhabited and cared for this land, and continue to do so today. We further acknowledge that Brampton resides within the bounds of the Ajetance Treaty agreed upon by the Mississaugas of the Credit and the British Crown in 1818. We recognize that Indigenous peoples have an enduring presence on this land and now share these lands with other global Indigenous people that now call Brampton home. We are grateful to continue telling stories on, and about, this land, and by doing so, honour and respect its first inhabitants. We are committed to implementing responses to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action and recognize our shared responsibility to address ongoing injustices.
