HELLO We have a jam-packed season with lots of great value shows which will be loved by the whole family! Following on from the spectacular adventure of The Wind in the Willows at Christmas, The Twits will be stopping by at the Rose in time for Easter half term. This co-production with Curve Leicester follows the success of last year’s The Witches. Roald Dahl’s classic, The Twits, will guarantee mischievous fun. Dahl’s stories continue to captivate audiences and we’re sure this production will do the same. Just wait and see what the monkeys’ cunning plan is...! For the young, and young at heart, 2017 starts with the The Jungle Book, Kipling’s great adventure, brought to the stage by Rose Youth Theatre, in an exciting new adaptation which tells the story of courage, family and growing up. The fun doesn’t stop there, we have live stage adaptations of Room on the Broom and The Scarecrows’ Wedding, by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, whose heart-warming tales will fill the auditorium with laughter. Children are invited to bring along their teddy bears and join Tilly and her friend, The Bear, which will be an unforgettable experience, with delicious music, dreamy storytelling and dazzling puppets. Timeless bed-time classics The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Michael Rosen’s award-winning We’re Going on a Bear Hunt will also be taking to the Rose’s stage. Direct from a smash-hit West End season and international tour, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and its catchy songs will be with you for days! Children will be enchanted by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which features over 75 loveable puppets, we can’t wait!

Don’t forget, the Rose also has a full programme of world class drama, which this season includes My Brilliant Friend Parts 1 and 2, written by Elena Ferrante. This production will be the first time Ferrante’s Neapolitan novels have been bought to the stage. Sandi Toksvig has also penned a new comedy, Silver Lining, which will have its world premiere at the Rose. Finally, a new musical, Junkyard, written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), will be one to look out for in the new year… to see our drama highlights, visit pages 8 – 9. We couldn’t do the work we do without your help and support. Visit our website for more information on how you can ensure the work we do in the local community continues. Don’t forget to make the most of the Rose Café, which provides delicious food and a wide variety of drinks, in a relaxing setting, with free wi-fi and regular events throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming you and your little ones to the Rose soon.

An additional £1 per ticket booking fee and £2.50 per booking transaction fee are payable when booking online and by phone.

Mr Twit has a very hairy face. His beard is spiky and smelly. It also contains cornflakes, sardines and even some stilton. Mrs Twit is equally as foul and she hates Mr Twit just as much as Mr Twit hates her. The Twits really are the most spiteful and revolting couple you could ever hope to meet. They spend their days playing wicked tricks on each other and mistreating Muggle-Wump monkeys. They also have a particularly sticky trick to catch Roly-Poly birds for their bird pies. But not for much longer because the monkeys have a cunning plan to teach those terrible twits a lesson. Recommended for ages 6+.

A powerful story of love, violence, sex, ambition, genius and self-destruction, the two-part play is an exploration not just of female friendship and rivalry, but of Italy after the war and the decades of political turmoil and cultural change that followed.
