welcome to Roseville Mayor
ROSEVILLE a city continually evolving
DAN ROE
................................................................. IN YOUR OPINION WHAT MAKES ROSEVILLE SO SPECIAL? Roseville is a special place not just because we are close to all of the great cultural, sporting, and entertainment opportunities in both Minneapolis and St. Paul, but more importantly because of our residents who care about each other and the community, and are committed to making Roseville the best place it can be. That community spirit is on display every June during Rosefest, featuring a car show, great musical performances, a first-class parade, all topped off by a fantastic July 4th fireworks display in Central Park. Just down the street from Roseville in late August is “The Great Minnesota Get-Together” - Minnesota’s State Fair, offering the best of Minnesota food, culture, and entertainment in one place. WHAT’S ARE SOME DON’T MISS IDEAS FOR VISITORS? Visitors should not miss the opportunity to explore the growing variety of dining options in Roseville, including Potluck, Portillo’s, and Baldamar at Rosedale Center, and others at Har Mar Mall and on neighborhood corners throughout the city. A special treat to see in the summer of 2020 will be Roseville In Bloom - rose sculptures painted by local artists on display around town. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY IN THE CITY? I love to explore Reservoir Woods Park in all seasons, on foot or on cross-country skis. It is like a piece of the north woods plopped down in the city, providing natural tranquility and opportunities to see wildlife. FAVORITE BREWSTILLERY? Whenever I can, I stop by Roseville’s Bent Brewstillery - a unique combination of micro-brewery and micro-distillery - to see what is brewing and catch up with friends. 3

BENT BREWSTILLERY Founded in 2012, Bent Brewstillery is the first combination brewery and distillery in the state of Minnesota. Our mission is to bring great adult beverages to the public and more diverse offerings to those tired of the same old thing. We do this by taking everyday style guidelines and “bending” them into a new flavor or style completely. In addition, we bring to spirits what craft brought to beer: the highest quality ingredients and the utmost care in preparation. Quality over quantity is the craft brewer’s credo, and Bent Brewstillery extends that from beer to spirits.

Q&A WITH RANDY STANLEY THE OWNER OF BALDAMAR
WWW.BALDAMAR.COM FOR LUNCH AND
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO OPEN YOUR LATEST CONCEPT IN ROSEVILLE? For Stanley, opening the Roseville restaurant is a bit like coming home. He lived in the Twin Cities suburb for several years, and raised his two daughters there. “It feels good to be here again,” he explained. “Opportunity dragged me away from Roseville, and now opportunity is bringing me back. I’ve always liked this part of the Twin Cities. I love the thriving, local community. And, I’m really excited by Rosedale Center’s commitment to showcasing local brands and businesses.
DINNER MENUS
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DISH AT BALDAMAR? Forced to narrow it down, Stanley has two favorites. The 18 oz Rib Eye, a Prime steak, hand-selected, custom aged and hand trimmed. Baldamar guests have the option of “adding some bling” to the steak, either béarnaise sauce with crab and asparagus; house-cured bacon and Blaser’s cheddar sauce, or blue cheese and fried onions. His other favorite? Baldamar’s signature Miso Marinated Seabass served with asparagus, mixed greens and a yuzu dressing. 24
