Welcome To Roseville A city continually evolving

Dan Roe, Roseville Mayor Tell us about Roseville

Roseville is a community of diverse people and diverse opportunities, with strong neighborhoods and a healthy business community. We benefit from our location close to both St. Paul and Minneapolis and our connections to the broader regional transportation network. We are connected with each other and . . . . . . . .invested . . . . . . . . . .in . . .our . . . .future, . . . . . . . .including . . . . . . . . . . .well-maintained . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . infrastructure ... and a top notch parks and recreation system.

What would you like visitors to know about our parks?

Parks and recreation opportunities are found nearly everywhere in Roseville. We have been intentional about having parks close to where people live and work throughout the city, with a network of trails, pathways, and sidewalks connecting everything together. Bikers, runners, and walkers can find a loop at just the right distance to meet their needs. Fields, courts, and playgrounds abound, designed to accommodate all abilities. And around nearly every corner are natural areas for quiet reflection or the chance to observe wildlife.

What’s a hidden secret about Roseville that you would like to share?

While Roseville’s strong retail sector and regional shopping center at Rosedale naturally draw many national or regional chains, we have a growing selection of locally owned restaurants (and breweries!) with creative menus and delicious food for nearly any taste or preference. Exploring and finding these eateries can be a very rewarding experience. 3

Any favorite Instagramable locations?

I would suggest the beautiful gardens at the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum during the growing season, and the iconic “rocket slide” in Central Park, or the rose sculptures from “Roseville in Bloom” any time of the year.

Five-Star official: Real Reviews from Real Roseville Visitors

We scoured the web to bring you our favorite reviews of Roseville’s top family attractions – because nobody knows family travel like traveling families. Read. Enjoy. Then hit the road and make some memories.

SEA QUEST

FAMILY FRIENDLY “GREAT WAY TO SPEND AN AFTERNOON”

“MINI ESCAPE FROM CITY LIFE!”

“Three generations (two kids, two parents, two grandparents) loved it. Everyone’s favorite was the aviary where the parakeets ate out of our hands. It was fun to feed the manta rays, the Koi and the ducks! The aquarium exhibits were unusual and interesting to watch. The kids are already asking to go again!” Visit Roseville Pro Tip: Buy a pack of feeding tokens for the ultimate animal experience.

“The boardwalk! So great to comfortably stroll over the wetlands. We tried a class from the Parks and Rec department and my kids loved it. Very cool that it’s also a rehabilitation center for injured animals. Lovely place. We will be back.” Visit Roseville Pro Tip: Check out the live beehive in the Nature Center.

Destination: SeaQuest

Destination: Harriet Alexander Nature Center

“THIS PLACE IS SO COOL!”

“GREAT ICE, GREAT TIMES”

Destination: Gamezenter

Destination: Guidant John Rose MN Oval “Amazing skating facility for families or for a pickup hockey game. The ice is perfect every time and it extends the outdoor skating scene by 3 or 4 months. The hockey rinks are set up for all levels of skill from first-timers all the way up to advanced players. And if you get a little chilly, the warmed viewing areas are a nice pit stop.” Fun Fact: The OVAL is the largest outdoor refrigerated skating facility in North America.

“Meet and play any board game for free? This place is awesome! Lovely open, clean and friendly space. It’s perfect for test-running a game before you buy, and there’s no pressure to make a purchase when you’re here. The staff was great, the food was good, and I beat my kids in Settlers of Catan. I wish my town had something like this.” Fun Fact: Table space is free, and the game library is stocked with hundreds of classics.

“WHAT A COOL PLACE!”

BONUS

Deep dish on places to eat: kids love pizza and so do we. For the freshest of fresh ingredients, go to Parkway Pizza. You’ll also love the Minnesota-style eats at Red’s Savoy. And for gourmet pies, there’s no better spot than Pizza Lucé. Roseville hospitality boasts everything you need for a cozy, convenient stay, including indoor pools, complimentary breakfasts.

Destination: Como Park Zoo & Conservatory “Always one of my favorite places since I was little. Now I’m happy my own children enjoy it too! Great places for photos, educational experiences, hands on learning, exercise, and fun. This zoo is so worth your trip.” Fun Fact: One of the last zoos offering free admission.

12

“The Twin Cities offer an eclectic mix of mouthwatering favorites and Roseville’s in the heart of them all. If you’re big on eating and drinking your way through a new city, explore these stopes for bites and brews you must try. “

BITES & BREWES “GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY”

“SUPER CHILL PLACE WITH A DIVERSE SELECTION”

Destination: Lucky’s 13 Pub

Destination: Brent Brewstillery

“Bartenders were super cool and there were plenty of variety on the beer taps. Popcorn at the bar was a nice surprise and it was fresh and of course addicting. They claim on the menu their burgers are all hand pattied angus beef and, yeah, when you bite into one you know it’s not from a frozen bag full of hockey pucks.

“The staff are always nice and helpful, and the owners are great! They have created a laid back and welcoming atmosphere. They keep a few of their beers on tap year round, but are always changing up their other selections as the seasons change. It’s great because I have my old faves to fall back on, but can always try something new.”

“KICKING OURSELVES FOR NOT GOING SOONER”

“SPENT THREE HOURS HERE BECAUSE IT WAS THAT GOOD”

Destination: La Tapatia

Destination: Surly Brewing

“I’m usually not the biggest fan of street style Mexican food but OMG my mind may be changed now. The food tasted authentic and was so good. I got the chorizo and carne asada tacos. The chorizo was some of the best I’ve had around here.”

“The BEST brewery I have been to yet! There is a huge outdoor space, upstairs for pizza and downstairs for everything else. If you’re looking for a good time with friends, a place for a date or family night (honestly), this is a great place.” Visit Roseville Pro Tip: Check out the store at Surly for merch and souvenir tees.

“THE CRISPY CRUST WAS PERFECTION” Destination: Pizza Lucé

“TOO DAMN GOOD!”

“The server recommended the Ruby Rae as one of her favorites, and it is essentially upside down pizza with sauce on top. It was so awesome and delish. Just thinking about it makes me want to fly back there to MN and inhale another Ruby Rae.”

Destination: High Pines Brewing in the Tipsy Steer “The beer list is growing, and all beers have been fabulous so far. If you have questions about the beer, the local brewer is generally there and very passionate about his work. The beertenders and staff were amazing. Very family friendly! 13

ROMANTIC GETAWAY

From your first date to your 50th anniversary, you can get away from the crowds and get more quality time together in Roseville. Centrally located between Minneapolis and St. Paul, you can call Roseville your homebase as you explore dining, theatre, arts and more in the Twin Cities.

“THE LINKS”

“THE EATS”

Start the day with a little friendly competition. Lined with mature trees and gardens, Roseville Cedarholm Golf Course is as beautiful as it is fun. At the same time, its par-three, nine-hole layout is welcoming for golfers of all skill levels, so you won’t need to schedule couples therapy after.

Style, service, steak. That sums up an evening at Baldamar, Roseville’s premier steakhouse. Split their signature, hand-shucked oysters, then move on to exclusive cuts of sizzling filet mignon or specialty seafood (trust us, the miso marinated sea bass is worth skipping steak for).

Destination: Cedarholm Golf Course

Destination: Baldamar

“THE TOAST”

“THE SWEETS”

Destination: 7 Vines Vineyard

Destination: Sweet Chocolat

Take a scenic drive to 7 Vines, one of Minnesota’s most beautiful wineries. More than 7,000 vines grow across ten acres, producing sparking whites, Chardonnay, Malbec and more. Schedule a tour and tasting to take in the winery’s warm and rustic wood architecture, a catwalk that shows off the fermentation process and, of course, the rolling acres. Cheers.

Nothing says “I love you” quite like chocolate. And a trip to Sweet Chocolat? That says, “I really love you.” Sweet Chocolat offers artisan crafted chocolates – truffles, cordials, caramels and more. Do yourself a favor and grab a box for home.

“THE LAUGHS”

“THE EDGY”

DESTINATION: Acme Comedy Company

Destination: Hidden MN

If you’re looking for dinner and a movie, head to Rosedale Center. If you’d rather see dinner and a show, that’s where Acme Comedy Company comes in. With premier standup acts, open mic nights and nationally known headliners like Aziz Ansari and Craig Ferguson, Acme is where love shows up in laughter.

There’s a primal joy in chucking sharp pieces of steel at flat pieces of wood, a certain release. It’s like couples therapy for aspiring lumberjacks – and it’s best served at Hidden MN. A direct hit’s satisfying thwack is reason enough to give axe throwing a whirl. The beers, they’re just the cherry on top.

SHOPPING WEEKEND 8:00 A.M. COFFEE STOP

1:00 P.M. RETAIL THERAPY

There’s no better way to start a day of shopping than with New York style bagels, right here in Minnesota. After all, you gotta carb load for all that walking. Try a bagel breakfast sandwich (our pick is the Al Green), a lox sandwich or a classic bagel with a schmear. Fun Fact: At St. Paul Bagelry, each bagel is made from scratch. So it’s no wonder in 2016 they were named Best Bagels in MN.

160 stores. 9 restaurants. One stop for all the deals you’re looking for. Whether you’re shopping for gifts, the holidays or just because, Rosedale Center features top retailers like Athleta, Carter’s, DSW, Six for Good and more. Pick up what you’re looking for…and maybe a few things you weren’t. Visit Roseville Pro Tip: Make sure you stop by Rose & Loon in Rosedale Center – a unique stop for gifts, goodies and more.

Start with the chicken and avocado egg rolls, then move on to salads, seafood, steak and sushi (we recommend the Godzilla roll). The also feature gluten-free items and a separate menu of entirely plantbased dishes.

Located just north of Rosedale Center, these two stops feature specialty shops like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ulta, Bed, Bath & Beyond and the Minnesota favorite, Patina. Stock up on unique finds and drop your bags at the car or hotel before heading to Rosedale Center.
