KINTERGARDEN:

RU

A kintergarden for 120 students. The site is located at kakkanad, kochi, kerala The design is applied by staggering units on site and focusing on making their inbetween spaces just as interesting. Such spaces are gathering areas for outdoor activities served by circulation paths where children are allowed to move freely with an easy visual connectivity and protection against direct sun and heat.

N! 6

In childhood one is more open to sensory impressions than ever again in one’s life. Smells, sensations of heat, sof` tness, weight, beauty and much more, form the basis of all of life’s later sensations.

7

Concept The concept of the deisgn is to make kids run and explore the nature by staggered square units.Mango trees provide a wider shadow range, better heat-comfort and thus a more pleasant experience. The wholistic effect of the entanglement is interacting with its elements in harmony, intriguing children to discover and comprehend their surrounding through the entertainment of both physical and mental activity There is untapped potential for these spaces to be vibrant landscapes for play and learning, where children can explore nature on a daily basis • • • • • • •

Apartment &mini supermarket

Garden View Garden view is an apartrment and supermarket project located at chittethukara, kochi which aims to bring garden and gathering space for vertical homes. It is a design that tries to helps people relax and have a good relationship eachother in the busy urban life

14

Designing in a warm climate is not about maximizing glass-facades and a continues AC-run. It’s about creating a design that offers views on one hand but minimizes its openings to direct sunlight on the other.

Concept Garden View looked to the architectural typology of “private house with a garden,” surrounding each unit with a balcony containing a gathering space and a garden. The 10 floors of apartments is a throughout terrace, acting as shading devices against direct sunlight, and giving outdoor access to every room. By giving each unit a spacious green-space,the complex retains a sense of lightness and openness. The gardens also work as an effective passive cooling system for the building, providing natural ventilation throughout the complex and shielding residents from the hot climate.

Competition

Street A Flaot In this competition, a scenario of earth of 2400. More than half of the land is covered with water. People have adapted to living on the water. They travel with boats, live in houses standing over stilts. All this has become the new normal. OBJECTIVE Design a street market floating on water. Keeping the scale of the market small: • Design the market for 10-15 shops. • Assume the depth of the water, on which the market is to be designed, is 4m. • People will come to purchase stuff on boats. • Security of goods must be one of the major priorities. • The market will be prone to sea waves.

Our design roots to the cell as we intend to design a market where the future generations are able to understand life of the past, where the ocean become the energy source for them and a place which can adapt to the increasing water levels.

23

Concept It’s the year 2400, a time when the entire world is in collapse with no hope on the horizon, humanity still thrives by tackling endless challenges thrown at us by becoming more innovative and experimental • The proposed floating market aims in providing proper communication and infrastructure facilities to the users. It is designed, considering, people’s movement around the modules so that the users can go around shopping without any chaos. • Modules are designed in a clustered organization which provides the users a feeling of protection comfort and being secured, and the orientation of the modules gives it a feeling of streets which creates a sense of belonging amongst the users • The project designed aims to provide a symbiotic relationship between man and nature by looking for solutions that have minimal effects on the environment.
