Foundation Bursary Appeal
The Rossall School Foundation Bursary Fund provides 100% fee assistance to local children who would otherwise be unable to join the School.
A Foundation Bursary will be open to any child who has exceptional talents in areas such as Academia, Arts, Music, Sports, and will therefore benefit from everything Rossall has to offer and whose parents or guardians have no realistic prospect of meeting the costs of independent schooling.
We are very pleased to announce that the first recipient of a Foundation Bursary will join this academic year. This bursary was possible as a result of a donation in memory of Robert Bernays (A 16-20), a legacy from Michael Melluish (SE 40-51) and support from Mark Gregory (R 71-77). The first Foundation Bursary was awarded to a local student who excels as an all-rounder.The Foundation Bursary will cover two years of schooling in Sixth Form for 100% of the school fees.
The Rossall Foundation would like to offer two further awards for entry into the Rossall Sixth Form in September 2017, to study either A Levels or the International Baccalaureate. This second phase has been launched with a very generous donation from Simon Borrows (A 71-77). All bursaries are means-tested and all applications will be assessed by reviewing documentary evidence, and by conducting interviews and home visits (where applicable). It is the School’s wish to welcome students from all backgrounds. The selection criteria will consider how the prospective students would benefit from a Rossall School education and the contribution they will make to the life of the School.

I was fortunate enough to receive a bursary from Rossall to attend Sixth Form. Being from a low income background, there was no way I could have hoped to attend Rossall without the financial assistance of the bursary which I was very fortunate enough to be offered. During my time there, I made some fantastic friends and experienced a way of life nobody else I had previously known could have ever imagined. I will always remember my time at Rossall and am eternally grateful to those who made it possible. Floreat Rossallia! - Max Bailey (MC 2010-2012) -
