The Problem
Brief_ Shape a rebrand scheme for Blade (formerly Blades) Barbers in Wakefield. The logo must not deviate too much from the original brand, but must re-establish the brand as the best barbers in Wakefield. Create appropriate brand materials for the barbers and a method of delivery for it’s new re-invigorated identity to the public. Background/Considerations_ With over 10 years of business, and over 60 years of collective experience, Blades is one of the most respected and and successful barbershops in Wakefield. With a sudden influx street style to the masses in the last 3 years, numerous newer, younger and less experienced barbers have been opening up boutique shops straight from hair cutting college. While they look cool, fresh and new, they are no match for the years of experience and hard earnt skill under the belt of the established barbers. The brand looks old and weathered and needs a new lease of life.

Rationale
The logo was developed to represent a blade and cutting edge. This is reference to the tools of the trade but also the barbershop’s understanding of always devloping in order to always be on trend, and be the best in their craft. The shape is also a reference to the corner that they do not cut. The placement of the logo will always be in the top right so that it always highlights the corner of the media it is printed on. The promotional material will re-establish the brand and highlight the fact that they do everything properly, and skillfully, unlike the newer and younger barbershops.
