Letter from the Chairman

Our brand We believe the Renessenz Signature supports our goal to be recognized as an industry leader in our markets, backed by an organization committed to teamwork, excellence and innovation. This series of documents are the comprehensive road map for successfully implementing the Renessenz name and brand. The Guideline modules and Quick Reference Guide provide important information relating to the main visual components and relationships that are essential to the Renessenz Corporate Identity. The Corporate Identity Guidelines include the following subject modules: Introduction | Basic Identity | Stationery | Templates | Literature | Signage | Special Applications In addition, we will provide a Quick Reference Guide for an overview of the basics. Our new branding needs to be Clear, Credible and Compelling. The market equity we build over time with a coherent and consistent identity system will help to visually reflect our brand attributes: • Promise – Renessenz; what it stands for, how it is distinctive, and why anyone should care about it. • Values – the principles by which we behave and make decisions. • Voice – helping to define the distinctive way we speak internally and externally to our customers and audience. We stand behind these guidelines and their close adherence going forward, and ask every employee to join us, to play a leadership role in ensuring that the Renessenz signature “speaks for itself”

The clean-burning substitute for fossil fuels

Glidfuel is a clean-burning substitute for fossil fuels. It is derived from natural, renewable feedstocks and is composed of monoterpenes, sesqulterpenes, terpene alcohols, and terpene polymers. Glidfuel can be burned alone or in any mixture with residual fuel oils where its high degree of solvent activity greatly improves the handling characteristics of the mixture. The user will experience better atomization and flame development with less fouling of burner tips.

Logo - Introduction

The Renessenz logo The corporate logo is a vitally important asset for Renessenz. It provides a legal trademark and guarantee of quality for all the products and services that carry our mark. It is a visual expression of our brand and should be used with care.

The core design inspiration of our logo Reinvention calls for a new name – a name worthy of a hundred year history, fresh with future possibilities, describing who we are and where we’re going. Renessenz LLC expresses the ideal blend of two fundamental components of our business – renewable and essence. Renewable, natural, sustainable resources that are the feedstocks for our products. Essence, for both fragrance and plant extracts in concentrated form. Essence also suggests the essential nature of our contribution to the industry. Customers around the world depend on integral ingredients from Renessenz in the creation of their products. The logo – a proprietary wordmark design developed for Renessenz – utilizes different character weights similar to our ingredients which can be used either in a robust or subtle way in customers’ products.

Logo - Full color and single color positive versions

3 Please note: Separate artwork files exist for all color versions for both print and on-screen use and are available from Renessenz Communications.

1

Always use the approved digital artwork files. Never recreate the Renessenz logo from scratch.

Preferred version to be used on a white background

A number of different versions of the logo have been created to suit different applications, from full color brochures to mono press advertisements and office 4 templates. The color positive versions of the logo should always be used on white backgrounds or very light backgrounds.

2

1

3

4

Primary Two color This is the preferred color version of the logo and should be used on corporate literature, product brochures, full color advertising, exhibition graphics, signage, pre-printed stationery and online applications.

Secondary Single color (Pantone 648 C) This version of the logo is for nonstandard situations where only one color is available. This could be used for product labels, bags or other areas of a low marketing nature. The dark blue provides the majority color of the existing wordmark but is not as stark as the Primary single color (black) option. The Renessenz triangle is 50% halftone of the blue. Secondary Grayscale This version is per the version above but with black and should be used for mono press (newspaper) advertising.

The full color version of the logo is made from Pantone 648 C dark blue and Pantone 3268 C green. Separate logo artworks exist for Pantone color (spot) and process color versions (CMYK). 2

Primary Single color (black) This is the preferred version of the logo to be used for office templates and monochrome laser copier output. 08.2011

2.3

Logo - Negative versions

2 Please note: The black field is to indicate a dark background color and is not part of the logo configuration.

It is not optimal for the logo to be placed within a closely surrounding field of any background color or outline if it can be avoided. Always use the approved digital artwork files. Never recreate the Renessenz logo versions from scratch.

1

When using the logo on a dark colored background, a negative version of the logo must be used. 3 Separate artwork files exist for all versions for both print and onscreen use and are available from Renessenz Communications.

2 1

3

Primary Negative – single color (white) This preferred negative version of the logo should be used wherever the logo needs to be reversed out of a dark or solid background color, for example on promotional merchandise or gift items.

Secondary Negative - two color This is an alternative version of the negative logo. It can be used for promotional merchandise such as apparel, co-branded collateral or on any other applications with a black or very dark background. The full color negative version of the logo is made from White and Pantone 3268 C Green. Separate artworks exist for Pantone color (spot) and Process color versions (CYMK). Secondary Negative – single color (gray/silver) This version of the negative logo should be used when the printing method or budget precludes the use of the full color version, e.g. on single color promotional merchandise. This version of the logo can be printed as metallic (Pantone 877), or as satin silver foil.

The preferred logo for brochures is the full color positive version on a white background.

2.4

Logo - Area of isolation

R-height

Determination of the R-height dimension for the area of isolation all around

Area of isolation around the logo = “R” Height To retain the integrity of our logo, an area of isolation has been defined. The area of isolation is a protective space surrounding the logo unit. To ensure neutrality and optimal prominence of the logo, no text or graphic elements should encroach into this area. The area of isolation is based on the full “R” height of the Renessenz logo including the descender. It is a minimum specification and should be increased wherever possible. The area of isolation applies in the same way to all logo artworks

For all applications except where the logo must be placed into a pre-existing field such as a sign or area on a 3rd party form

50% R-height

R-height

The only exception is for certain applications where rectangular areas are specified pre-existing and adherence to the core specification would create a logo too small for the space (such as certain signage and 3rd party forms). In this case the minimum spacing is 50% R height to horizontal sign edges and 100% R height to vertical edges.

For exceptions only where the logo must be placed into a pre-existing field such as a sign or area on a 3rd party form 08.2011

2.5

Logo - Correct and incorrect usage

The logo is the most important visual representation of the Renessenz brand and must always be used consistently, without distortion or alteration. For this reason, always use the approved digital artwork files. Never recreate the logo from scratch. Dos Use the two-color version (shown) as the primary logo on a white background.

1

Basic Identity

2.6

Logo - Backgrounds

The positive, full color Renessenz logo, applied on a white background is the preferred version for all communications.

1

However, in some circumstances this may not always be possible, especially when the logo is placed on a photograph, or a background color is already predetermined, such as promotional merchandise.

Primary logo version on white background

1

1

On white (or light) backgrounds Wherever possible, the primary (2-color) logo should be applied on a white background. This helps to build a consistent appearance of the Renessenz brand throughout all communications. Important The primary 2-color Renessenz logo should only be used on a white background or very light background. Even backgrounds of light pastel tones will make the green in the logo hard to read.

2

2

On darker backgrounds The negative version of the logo should be used on dark or colored backgrounds.

3

On photographs When using the logo on photographic backgrounds, please ensure that they present a consistent color base (no detail) and do not visually conflict with the logo.

3 08.2011

Basic Identity

2.7

Use the positive version of the logo on a pure white background

2

Use the negative version of the logo on colored backgrounds. Avoid light colors and tints up to 30%.

File formats The logo is available in a number of color types and file formats to ensure the best reproduction across a range of applications. EPS For all professional print, signage and merchandise applications, the EPS version of the logo should

be used. EPS files are infinitely scalable, resolution-independent vector files and can be made to any size without degradation. They are typically used in professional graphics programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite (Windows and Mac) but are not generally used on Windows based Microsoft Office programs. We have supplied MS compatible versions when only that platform is available. EPS files for the 2-color positive logo are offered in CMYK (4 color process build) or Pantone (PMS) spot color versions. CMYK version is used for full color print (brochures) and PMS version is for 2 color print (stationery | signage). JPG For Microsoft Word templates, the JPEG version of the logo should be used. All JPGs are setup in RGB color only and available in 300 ppi (for paper output) and 100 ppi (for electronic use). Also, JPEGs are provided in output lengths from 100mm to 400mm. PNG For PowerPoint templates, and online applications, the PNG version of the logo should be used. All PNGs are RGB color only and available in 100 ppi (for electronic use). Also, PNGs are provided in output lengths from 100mm to 400mm.

Renessenz has adopted a consistent style for all communications on the company letterhead. x • The type is ranged left 30mm (1.2”) from the left hand edge of the page, aligned with the R in the logo. The right hand margin is 15mm; type should not he justified to this margin. Paragraphs are separated by a full line space and are not indented. All type is in Times 10 point on 12.8 point, single space. No other typeface is acceptable for letters. x • The date is positioned 10 carriage returns from the top of the page (or 45mm from the top of the page), the first line of the address is three lines below. This ensures the Reference numbers, if needed, are typed on the same line as the first line of the address, aligned with the preprinted numbers block (54mm from the left margin). x • There are printed location dots which indicate the correct left alignment of letter type and also indicte the top left and bottom left corners of the address space which aligns with the Renessenz #10 window envelope. All name and address information must be centered within these marks with space above and below. x • To ensure correct location of the address block within the window envelope a fold line has been included on the left of the page x • The salutation is twenty carriage returns from the top of the page so it can be seen on the folded page when withdrawn from the envelope. x • If your software program has an automatic bullet function, it will indent each line of text as it is added, and will look like this. This is permissable. However, the setting should be adjusted to place one space after the bullet dot. x The body of the letter follows two lines down from the salutation. Headings, if required are typed two lines down from the salutation in bold type and should not be centred or underlined. When Renessenz is referred to in text it must always be written with a capital R, but should not be in all capitals. The company name may be written as Renessenz or Renessenz LLC, as appropriate. x The closure is typed two lines down from the end of the text. Copy names are included two lines beneath the title. A minimum space of eight line-spaces should be left between the last name and the bottom of the page, but the file name (6 point type) may be placed in this space.

Dear Mr. A N Otherperson: Layout of letters

1

Use of template This is a template (MS Word.dot file). For new letters, open the template and “save as” a Word file (.doc). This way, the template is always available in its correct form.

Presentation of letters is an important part of corporate identity. Renessenz has adopted a consistent style for all communications on the company letterhead • The type is ranged left 30mm (1.2”) from the left hand edge of the page, aligned with the R in the logo. The right hand margin is 15mm; type should not he justified to this margin. Paragraphs are separated by a full line space and are not indented. All type is in Times 10 point on 12.8 point, single space. No other typeface is acceptable for letters • The date is positioned 10 carriage returns from the top of the page (or 45mm from the top of the page), the first line of the address is three lines below. This ensures the Reference numbers, if needed, are typed on the same line as the first line of the address, aligned with the preprinted numbers block (54mm from the left margin).

1

• There are printed location dots which indicate the correct left alignment of letter type and also indicte the top left and bottom left corners of the address space which aligns with the Renessenz #10 window envelope. All name and address information must be centered within these marks with space above and below • To ensure correct location of the address block within the window envelope a fold line has been included on the left of the page • The salutation is twenty carriage returns from the top of the page so it can be seen on the folded page when withdrawn from the envelope • If your software program has an automatic bullet function, it will indent each line of text as it is added, and will look like this. This is permissable. However, the setting should be adjusted to place one space after the bullet dot

A.N. Otherperson Month 00, 1995 Page two If the letter requires more than one page, the succeeding pages begin 10 carriage returns down from the top of the page, with the name of the addressee, the date and the page number. The letter text continues two lines below. Be sure to print the additional pages on the proper second sheet shown, which is the same paper stock as the letterhead This layout is intended for typical business letters. However, if the letter is very brief it is permissable to begin typing further down the page to present a better balanced appearance

Body Copy Times 10pt/12.5pt Continuation page The continuation page formatting is setup to contain only the Renessenz logo and type style.

Sincerely yours

Ross Whitehead Visual Communications cc:J.B. Smith, XYZ Inc.

The body of the letter follows two lines down from the salutation. Headings, if required are typed two lines down from the salutation in bold type and should not be centred or underlined. When Renessenz is referred to in text it must always be written with a capital R, but should not be in all capitals. The company name may be written as Renessenz or Renessenz LLC, as appropriate

Modification This is an official Renessenz corporate document. Under no circumstances should the layout or details be modified.

The closure is typed two lines down from the end of the text. Copy names are included two lines beneath the title. A minimum space of eight line-spaces should be left between the last name and the bottom of the page, but the file name (6 point type) may be placed in this space.

Charts and Graphs

When producing graphs and charts, it is important that colors from the primary and secondary color palettes are used.

Using color in charts and graphs ■ The following examples demonstrate the use of color on charts and graphs and allow for a range of flexible color and style options ■ Charts and graphs should be set as 2-dimensional graphics. Transparencies and 3-dimensional effects should be avoided and removed if automatically applied

Using these colors creates a strong Renessenz look to PowerPoint presentations, as shown in the examples on this page. The examples shown are for guidance only. To ensure clarity, a maximum of two graphs or charts should be included within a single PowerPoint slide.

MS Powerpoint - Color breakdowns

When importing graphs and charts from Excel, care must be taken to apply the correct colour values from the Renessenz color palette.

Selecting colors in Excel for charts and graphs ■ Once data fields have been created in Excel and the chart style selected, the chart will need to be rendered in approved Renessenz colors ■ Colors of charts may be altered by clicking the required data point and selecting an alternate color from the approved color palette as shown opposite ■ Once created, charts may be copied from Excel into PPT and placed where required

These will need to be added manually to each graph or chart or a custom color palette created. This can be done via the Preferences menu (Preferences > Color > Chart Fills > Modify). Up to eight custom colous can be included. The MS PowerPoint template for this item can be sourced from the CI intranet page or from Communications. Do not change formatting settings.

Directional signs Directional signs help to navigate to, from and within the Renessenz sites. For new directional signage, a standard proprietary system, such as Spandex Infopanel or similar systems should be considered. Type and directional arrows must be highly legible at the preferred viewing distance. Two color schemes exist for directional signage as shown in these examples.

Reception signs

1

Reception signs Reception environments differ greatly from site to site, and a number of different signage options exists to ensure the logo is highly legible in each situation.

2

1

Standard reception sign The Renessenz logo is positioned within a background panel. Cut vinyl lettering or profile cut acrylic will generally be appropriate for the Renessenz logo, although raised (extruded) letterforms may also be used. The background panel may be produced out of a range of materials, such as acrylic, glass, or stainless steel. Always choose a material which maximizes contrast in a particular environment.

2

Alternative reception signage Where space is limited, or the standard approach inappropriate, the Renessenz logo may be applied directly onto a wall. This approach is suitable for a number of different background substrates, from wallpaper to wood and glass. Fret cut, stainless steel letter-forms can be used (monochrome approach), in addition to cut vinyl lettering or profile cut acrylic depending on the wall material and color.

Special Applications

7.1

Using the logo

1 Using the logo All special applications, such as workwear, branded merchandise and vehicle liveries, help to build an awareness of Renessenz, and done correctly, create positive 2 perceptions of the brand.

1

Preferred version to be used on a white background

2

To ensure that the logo is legible across all special applications, five versions of the logo can be used. Often, the background color is pre-determined and care must be 3 taken to select the logo version which has the most standout.

3

Positive single color (black) This version of the logo should only be used when the production method precludes the use of other logo versions or when these do not provide sufficient contrast with the background color. Negative single color (white) This is the preferred negative version of the logo and should be used wherever the logo needs to be applied to a dark or solid background color.

4

Negative single color (gray/silver) For premium applications, such as branded gift boxes or pens, the logo can be reproduced using a metallic ink (Pantone 877) or using a satin silver foil.

5

Negative full color This is an alternative version of the negative logo. It should only be used if there is sufficient contrast between Renessenz Green and the background color.

4

5

Positive full color This is the preferred positive version of the logo and should be used on light or white colored backgrounds.

This option is useful for dark colored apparel.

Workwear

It is important that Renessenz is clearly identified on all workwear applications, from overalls, Nomex suits, to hard hats and high visibility jackets. 1

Dark colored overalls On the front, the full color, positive version of the logo should be applied to a white embroidered patch - or can be embroidered directly using the color negative logo version. On the back, the color negative version should be applied directly on to the fabric.

2

Light colored overalls On the front, the full color, positive version of the logo should be applied to a white embroidered patch - or can be embroidered directly. On the back, the full color, positive version of the logo should be applied directly onto the fabric.

3

High visibility jackets To maximize legibility, the single color black version of the logo is used.

4

Hard hats The choice of logo will be determined by the color of hard hat. Always choose the most legible version.

Branded merchandise

Branded merchandise provides an excellent opportunity to promote awareness of Renessenz. All merchandise should, therefore, reflect the nature of our business and be of optimum quality. When branding merchandise, please ensure the chosen logo is highly legible and reproduces well on the material. For premium applications, such as branded gift boxes or pens, the logo can be reproduced using a metallic ink (Pantone 877) or using a satin silver foil.

Vehicle livery

A wide range of vehicles may be used by Renessenz. These provide an excellent opportunity to promote awareness of Renessenz. For most light vehicles and vans the logo should be positioned where it is easy to read, but at a discreet size on the side of the vehicle. On larger trucks, tankers and rail freight, the logo should be displayed prominently on the side. The logo should be reproduced using cut vinyl film. The following color values should be used: Renessenz Dark Blue 3M Scotchcal SC 80-724_(Series 80) Renessenz Green 3M Scotchcal 100-718_(Series 100)

Jacksonville Plant

Representative examples only. It is not mandatory that all transport owned or operated by Renessenz or contractors is branded. In the case of potentially dangerous chemicals, branding of transport may be negative in the event of a catastrophic incident.
