At last, we are able to enjoy going out for a meal again! Bookings are now being taken online for Spring terrace/Igloo dining, at the smart new Coppa Club Cobham Restaurant, situated right opposite Waitrose, in town. I was lucky enough to visit last December, just before the last lockdown started. Along with my family, I enjoyed a much needed night out. Our pretty, Igloo enclosed table, provided a wonderful space to enjoy a delicious dinner! It was warm and cosy, even in December, as each igloo has its own heating, which can be adjusted to suit the temperatures outside, so I’m very sure it would be great now too! The menus at Coppa Club focus on thoughtful, unfussy, European food, ranging from small plates and snacks, to grilled mains, sourdough pizzas and healthy salads. There are a wide selection of weekend brunch dishes and the bar serves carefully chosen wines, beers, and classic cocktails, as well as a few new creations! In short, there is pretty much something for everyone, on this menu. My family can be a fussy bunch but we all thoroughly enjoyed our delicious dishes that evening! from the menu including the following; Carpaccio with Yuzu dressing, Crispy fried Squid with sriracha mayo, & buttermilk fried chicken with chilli mayo. Some Devon crab linguine, Halibut ‘Al Cartoccio’ served with fennel freaked, lemon, parsley, mint, tomatoes & anchovy, a Sourdough Coppa Hot Pizza, and a delicious 10 oz Dry Aged Sirloin Steak! As if this wasn’t enough, some finished the evening by indulging in Orange Polenta Cake with scorched figs, honey & yoghurt, Sticky Toffee Pudding with crushed honeycomb & vanilla ice cream, and one Apple & Pear crumble was also enjoyed! Wow! What a lovely feast we had. As you can see from the images, all were beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. It really was such a treat to enjoy these fabulous dishes in our own little igloo. Pre Covid, this would have been fun, now it is still fun but also brings the added bonus of making you feel safe too, as the igloos offer a great shield from other diners. The staff who came in briefly to deliver our food were wearing masks and didn’t linger longer than was necessary. All in all, this was a wonderful treat and a really fun night out with fabulous food. Look Local highly recommends igloo dining at Coppa Club Cobham! We will definitely be returning.

Lucy of Buy to Let Hunter interviews a local entrepreneur

Buy To Let Hunter is a fresh approach to property purchase – we recently sat down with one of our early investors to catch up with him:

Raffi is a local business owner doing a great thing for the world - he arrived in Richmond with enough money for just 8 months. He followed a hunch and set up Bantam Materials - providing Prevented Ocean Plastic, recycling and collecting from at-risk coastal communities and creating a research centre on the Richmond Green – we think he is marvellous, and we are not the only ones!
