DISTRICT GOVERNOR – 2013-14 JEREMY HURST (Grand Cayman)
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES As District Governor for the 2013-14 year my role is to provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to Rotary clubs under the supervision of the RI Board of Directors. I am an officer of RI, with the goal of fostering achievement at the club level. In preparing for the 2013/14 year, I have worked closely with the other District Leaders in this directory to create an effective support structure for District 7020’s Rotary, Rotaract, Interact and EarlyAct Clubs as well as the many other programmes and projects we will undertake during the year.
TOP THREE GOALS
Provide valuable resources to our Clubs through an effective District Leadership Structure so that we can strengthen our clubs in 2013/14 and beyond. Encourage our Clubs’ leaders to engage each and every Rotarian in our District so that they actively participate in some aspect of Rotary service during the coming year. In that way we can meet 2013/14 RI President Ron Burton’s challenge to Engage Rotary – Change Lives! Encourage our clubs to be bold and take on new exciting, greater-impact humanitarian service projects that meet the real needs of the communities we serve and in doing so significantly improve the profile of our clubs in our communities.

ROTARY FOUNDATION DISTRICT ROTARY FOUNDATION CHAIR LINDSEY CANCINO (East Nassau)
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES District Rotary Foundation chair: oversee the district foundation team and its activities
TOP THREE GOALS
First, to prepare the district for the transition to the new grants model; this is imperative
Second, support APF chair Richard in his ambition to get annual giving for 13-14 up to $300,000; if we are going to maximize our potential with the new grants model, increased giving is essential. A key to this in my view is the expansion of the already impressive PHS that we have in 7020, therefore supporting PHS chair Monica in the coming year is critical.
Third, build on our impressive legacy of support to the Polio Eradication effort but by involving the general public more, NOT through Rotarian giving. This is going to be essential if we are going to cross the finish line which is so near.
