Born in Waco, Texas to a doctor father, musician grandmother and inspiring mother, Lauren began creating at a young age.. She made rock houses for the horned toad frogs, lakes for her barbies and tree houses in which to read and daydreamed. She recalls the moment architecture and design came into her life at age 5 when she visited a strikingly contemporary home that bridged a stream.

A move to Houston at age seven allowed her to witness skyscrapers shooting up like wildfire and the NASA/ Space Age. To a child, it was like watching a real-life Wizard of OZ and the Emerald City. Her favorite cartoon was Jetsons, of course, and she thought for sure by 1980 cars would be flying. She overwhelmed her teachers with daily inventions such as flying bicycles, pocket air conditioners, wind powered devices and the like thinking these would surely change the world.

Each piece in Rottet Collection is a thoughtful expression of art and function inspired by the Light and Space art movement and Rottet’s own art and architectural background. Born to fulfill a functional need, or simply the desire for certain objects to live in the world, Rottet Collection offers a masterful variety of furniture and accessories for indoor and outdoor living, dining, sleeping and working.

Handcrafted from solid walnut, the wide and angular lounge-like frame includes a transparent acrylic seat and back that gives the illusion as if the hollow structure is floating while casting playful shadows within its setting.

A wood base replaces the acrylic in this version of the New Canaan Sofa. The original was named after the location the renowned Glass House, a structure where the interior spaces are almost entirely visible from the outside. The New Canaan Lounge Chair is composed of an acrylic base to reveal the clean, architectural lines of the stainless-steel frame offering little distraction within its environment.

Inspired by the craftsmanship and detail of the George Nelson Montauk House, the Structured Lacquer Chair combines a high gloss lacquer, wood, and is available in a mix of leathers, hides, and furs.

The Walking Bench was originally created for the indoor/outdoor entry foyer at the Kips Bay Show House in Dallas, Texas. The impetus for the design was that the bench looks kinetic as if it has its own energy to physically walk on its own.

Typically, benches feel so static and lack personality; however, the angled legs and balanced composition of the Walking Bench give it life and character as if taking a “walk”, hence the name. It is offered in different lengths for different applications and settings (the longer the bench, the more legs and the more visual energy it exudes).

The Kilter Table plays with the idea of the movement of an otherwise stagnant object. The skewed angles disrupt the balance of a perfect rectilinear block creating energy that evokes the impression of movement while remaining firmly and solidly grounded.

The Scutoid Planters were inspired by the scientific discovery that epithelial cells naturally curve to adopt very beautiful and complex, yet stable geometric shapes known as scutoids, which consist of sheets of similar tissue bound closely together to form larger organic beings. Constructed of solid stone, these planters are remarkably sturdy and intended to bind the connection between the indoor and outdoor experience.

The Fontaine Water Feature tells the visual story of a stonemason whose time expired before his work was complete. Its beauty lies within the balance of smooth, polished surfaces and raw, unfinished natural stone which alludes to the theory that humankind is imperfect in itself and the fundamental elements of this earth will long survive our existence.

Both the Fenix Firepit and Fontaine Water Feature are handcrafted from a single block of basalt with a hole at the base to connect a gas line or water pump, respectively.

Due to handcraftsmanship and the nature of natural material, each piece is unique and dimensions will vary slightly.

The Powerful Void Table offers a minimal design that plays off the idea of layers through its unique use of materials. As the soft white lacquered exterior shell is carved away a warm walnut interior is revealed through the hollow vertical incision and hidden storage drawer, which also offers multiple power outlets to conveniently charge or conceal several devices.

The Powerful Cube Table has a quarter-cut, non-figured wood top, and a polished stainless steel base. Its polished metal facade exudes energy by reflecting movement and light and its internal functionality offers recharging and power capabilities for a variety of devices. Comprised of three high gloss lacquered cubes, the Powerful Nesting Tables contract to fit within each other and conserve space and expand to offer more surface area, and allow access to hidden power outlets to charge multiple devices simultaneously.

The Cubist Collection is about abstraction or distortion of the literal. The Origami Nesting Tables follow this theme of irregular shapes and tops. They mimic the Japanese tradition of origami, the art of folding paper and transforming it into something new.

The Origami table quietly demands attention. The soft, creased angles leave the viewer with the impression of a sheet of paper, folded and unfolded, giving structure and shape to the table. Offered with an optional colored lacquered finish on underneath.

The Float Tray Table was originally designed for a ship’s cabin to act as both the coffee table and ottoman to the sofa. The upturned lip of the table top kept dishes from sliding off in rough seas.

Elegant, narrow dimensions make it an ideal fit for tight spaces and in rooms to have the functionality of a sofa table while allowing for more space to walk around.

Sleek and contemporary, the Essex Bed is constructed of a wooden frame with a leather headboard wrapped in metal banding. Inspired by nature and the serenity of the changing seasons, the Aspen Bed offers a cozy nest constructed of a wood base with a leather frame and features an elegantly curved headboard to promote the idea of a safe enclosure. The inspiration behind the Ovo Mirror Collection (Arc, Ellipse and Trapezoid mirrors) was conceived by Lauren’s fascination with early light and space artists who often hid mirrors within their work to manipulate the environment.

Envisioned as an egg (ovo from Latin ōvum), the clear portion of the mirror represents the yolk and its definitive shape gives each mirror its name. Integrating different shapes and colored surfaces, each mirror creates a powerful impression by reflecting playful light in a dynamic way that captures a focused view in the clear glass and echos subtle movements dancing in the background of the peripheral colored glass which creates a sensation that the surrounding space is alive and breathing.

The T Tray adds instant glamour to any setting. Artful and inspiring, the Cake Lamp is handmade in Italy from hand etched crystal. With a single vertically positioned bulb to cast even light from the center. When illuminated, the top comes to life warming the room with soft light and playful shadows. The functional top is also removable so objects and precious treats can be uniquely displayed on the flat plate within a dome of light.

Elegant and multi-functional, the Luminosa Screen is comprised of a custom Italian Rubelli LED fabric inside a metal frame which rests within stone foot supports that can be positioned as needed along the base to accommodate unique installation sites. Originally designed as a radiant heating cover for l’Appartamento by Artemest at Milano Design Week 2024, the Luminosa Screen can also be used as a fireplace screen during summer months or made taller into a one, three or four-panel room divider. The Luminosa Screen provides privacy, concealment, and decoration by day, and with a flip of a switch by night, transforms the ambiance casting a warm glow through the textured fabric.
