As an athlete, there are many children who look up to me, so in some ways I’ve always felt like a parent. The only difference is now I have extra impressionable eyes on me that are closer to home, so it’s even more important that I continue doing my best and stand up for what’s right.

I have always been excited to be a parent and now I am blessed to have two little ones with my wife Vio. This wonderful journey into parenthood has been nothing short of incredible. People often ask me what my favourite part of this journey has been, and I can honestly say nothing has been more exciting than witnessing each of the births of our kids. Vio is a great mother, and she takes care of them with so much ease – it has been beautiful to watch.

But it’s not always easy juggling training, my work as a brand ambassador and the kids, especially because I do a lot of events and meetings from home. Having a bigger family means I have to manage my time more tightly. I always take advice from those around me, too, and value other people’s experience when it comes to providing the best for our kids.
