HYDROFORMING Hydroforming is when the metal tubes or hollow parts in a closed mould are shaped using internal pressure. In bike manufacturing, hydroforming is used to produce tube sets with complex shapes. The process can be used to shape and adjust walls to precisely the thickness needed, which in turn saves weight.

ASTM F2043-13 USE CLASS 2 On the frame of your bike is the sticker shown on the right. Please do not remove this sticker. He classifies your bike in category 2 of the international standard ASTM F2043-13. This means that your bike has been designed and built for a specific condition.

ASTM F2043-13 Use Class 2: Bikes of this category may be used on normal gravel and forest roads with moderate incline, in addition to the usual paved or paved roads and paths. The ground may be uneven and loose, the terrain moderately irregular. The tires may briefly lose ground contact, but drops should not exceed 15 cm (6 in.). Exposing your bike to higher loads can shorten the life of all components. In extreme cases, important components can fail and you can seriously injure yourself.

INTEGRATED BATTERY REMOVABLE Maximum flexibility! This e-bike’s battery is fully integrated into the down tube, ensuring a clean, streamlined look. The battery can be both easily removed from the down tube to be charged externally and locked in place in the down tube.

TAPERED HEADTUBE The tapered head tube guarantees effortless handling, especially on winding tracks and at high speeds. The conical (tapered) head tube reduces the weight of the steering column and simultaneously makes the steering head more rigid. This ensures greater riding stability and improves the bike’s steering behaviour and handling – whether on or off road.

XXL XXL all the way down! Univega’s XXL bikes are designed for tall riders up to 2.22 m (7‘ 2“), and are still manoeuvrable and agile despite their size. These bikes aren‘t just for tall riders – heavier riders can also get in on the fun and cut a fine figure with their XXL bike, with a total weight of up to 170 kg (375 lb).

INTEGRATED BATTERY BUILD IN Fully integrated! The battery in these e-bikes is fully integrated into the down tube, ensuring a smooth and clean appearance. Although they are pretty light, batteries must be docked in the designated charging port in order to charge.

SPARE BATTERY Full speed ahead! These e-bikes are equipped with two batteries, offering maximum power. The battery that is fully integrated into the down tube can be supplemented by a second, external battery, meaning it can offer maximum support even on longer rides.

MAXLE SYSTEM The Maxle system is an ingenious thru-axle that makes the bike rigid and light. Removing it makes for similarly light work, with no tools being required – at the front or the back. And the additional rigidity means the rider has the precision they need to master even the most difficult paths.

BLUETOOTH Shimano: The bike’s Boost and Trail modes can be configured easily using the Shimano E-Tube app. You can choose a powerful boost for tackling steep climbs, while switching to a low Trail support level ensures optimal grip. The settings can be adjusted on the fly thanks to the Bluetooth connection. No cables necessary! Bosch: Thanks to the Bluetooth inferface, the Kiox display can be linked to your smartphone and adjusted to your personal preferences. Riders can choose from two different views displaying up to four items of data; if desired, a heart rate monitor can also be linked to the Kiox.

USB INTERFACE The USB interface ensures that even when your smartphone battery gives up the ghost, you still have power.

INTERNAL CABLEROUTING With internal cable routing, the gear shift and/or brake cables run along the inside of the frame. This offers many technical advantages as well as a clean, streamlined look. Internally routed cables are better protected against mud, dirt and other weather conditions, and against the extra wear and tear that those things cause.
