She has spoken at national, regional and state conferences on diverse archival, history and library topics, taught a photograph workshop at the annual American Association of State and Local History conference, and state workshops on archival arrangement and collections care. She was the principle investigator for an NEH Sustaining Cultural Heritage Grant to create and maintain a sustainable preservation environment through monitoring and analysi s of the existing HVAC system in order to mitigate humidity problems and save energy; and a security assessment grant. As a successful grant writer, she has also been asked to serve on several federal grant review panels. She has comanaged several digitization projects, development of an institutional repository and installation of compact shelving. Hamill’s focus on archival arrangement and description dates to her master’s thesis, which was followed by an independent study analyzing a library collection management module’s compliance with archival theory when applied to photographs. Her award winning first book focuses heavily on arrangement and description and photography but broadly

His dissertation won the Paul W. Vogt Higher Education Dissertation of the Year award and was featured in American Libraries in 2017. He earned his master’s degrees in library science and education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his doctorate in higher education administration from Illinois State University. His 2016 dissertation, Librar ians and student affairs professionals as collaborators for student learning and success, was featured as a notable dissertation of the year in American Libraries and won the 2017 W. Dr. Julie Todaro is the dean of Austin Community College (ACC) Library Services. She is a library consultant and in her practice serves as an advisor and project lead with expertise in all aspects of management, leadership, library facilities and operations. Todaro’s association activities and leadership focus on all types of libraries and librarians. On the national leadership level Julie was the 2016-2017 president of the American Library Association (ALA) with an initiative focus on librarians titled Libraries Transform: the Expert in the Library and was the 2007-2008 past-president of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL.) On the state leadership level, Julie was the 2000-2001 president of the Texas Library Association (TLA).
