The Classique Grande Complication Tourbillon 5317 provides the perfect setting for Breguet’s most spectacular invention and undeniably the most beautiful of all horological complications, developed over 210 years ago to compensate for the effects of gravity. BEAUTY

BEAUTY trends The variety of beauty looks seen on the catwalk each season never fail to impress, but a few key trends always shine through - and we’ve collated the best that will work on YOU.

1

THE ROSY GLOW

You may have spent all summer chasing a sun-kissed glow, but now it’s time to embrace a rose-tinted flush by working a subtle colour into your cheeks. Blend Red Statement and Rich New Mood from MAC’s Fall Forecast lips palette, or try Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Cherry Pink on darker skin tones.

2

THE RICH LIP

The red lip still has its place this season, but it has been given a sophisticated spin. After applying a vivid ruby lip liner, top it with bluetoned Dolce & Gabbana Classic Cream Lipsticks in Amethyst and Ultra - the perfect look for those festive nights out.

3

THE SOOTY EYE

Embrace this season's ‘Rebel’ trend and rethink the way you apply your eye liner. Fill in your lower lash line with a silky jet black eye pencil, then smudge with your little finger before adding lashings of jet black mascara.

3

THE BOLD POLISH

Winter nails have been warmed up. Essie Polish in Forever Yummy, makes a dramatic statement this party season.

ABERDEEN

EDINBURGH

If you want to party this New Year, Glasgow is the place to be. With its multitude of bars, restaurants and clubs, there’s something for everyone. Merchant Square, with its indoor courtyard and host of cool bars and restaurants, is the perfect spot to bring in the New Year – best part of all? You can bar hop without worrying about the weather. This year’s Hogmanay event has a New York theme and promises to be a night to remember with lots of great live entertainment under the canopy of twinkling lights in its indoor courtyard. In the west end Ashton Lane offers an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants where you can dance the night away; our top pick has to be Brel – look out for the great selection of world beers and the amazing ‘Dancing Trees of Brel’ in the beer garden. For a truly luxurious night, head to One Devonshire Gardens for a decadent black tie soiree or go all out and make a night of it at The Corinthian Club where DJs, a ceilidh and Casino await.

After opening our new store at Monument Mall in Newcastle, we’ve been enjoying finding the best of the city’s night life and we promise there’s plenty to entertain you this Hogmanay. Whether you’re in the mood for a nice meal with family, drinks with friends or a late night clubbing it up. Get glammed up for a night to remember at the New Years Ball at As You Like It in Jesmond, a stylish bar, restaurant and venue that has a jam-packed entertainment programme. Gin lovers should promptly make their way to Pleased To Meet You to celebrate New Year sampling their range of premium gins before heading to Livellos to party the night away and maybe spot a few friendly faces from ROX… it’s become a favourite with the team in our Monument Mall store. If clubbing is on the cards check out Cosmic Ballroom where its underground feel it complimented by music from top house and electronic DJs.

It might be affectionately referred to as the Granite City but at Hogmanay you can see Aberdeen in a different light as it becomes a flurry of colour and festivity at the annual Street Party. Enjoy pipers, live entertainment and a fireworks. For a more intimate Hogmanay, get your family and friends together for dinner and drinks at one of the city’s coolest spots; Musa in Aberdeen gets rave reviews from critics and customers alike, and for good reason. This quirky little restaurant, gallery and live music venue has a brilliant atmosphere and menu to boot. Another great spot is The Tippling House which describes itself as a subterranean late-night tavern serving boutique spirits, handcrafted cocktails, fine Scottish ales & inspired casual dining. Malmaison Aberdeen offers all out luxury; this boutique has it all so you can enjoy decadent cocktails in the stylish surroundings of the Malbar and dine in its elegant Brasserie.

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay is famous around the world and for good reason – the Capital really comes to life at New Year. George Street is buzzing with hip bars and restaurants to kick off 2014 in style; we love EH2 Tempus for fabulous cocktails, Chaophraya for stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and Tiger Lily for cool accommodation and its fabulous nightclub, Lulu. At the Edinburgh Street Party expect a host of live performances, quirky street performers and an amazing fireworks display from the Castle. Alternatively, beat the cold and go VIP as the Assembly Room’s Hogmanay Ball – a night of bubbly, live entertainment and ceilidh dancing. ROX MAGAZINE

LET’S CELEBRATE... This season we are proud to announce our exclusive partnership with one of the most distinguished Champagne houses in the world, Laurent-Perrier. Celebrate that all important purchase at the Laurent-Perrier Champagne bar at ROX in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds and Newcastle.

B

ased right in the heart of the Champagne region, Laurent-Perrier has a pedigree for innovation, handcrafting elegant champagnes using traditional, time-honoured methods. Laurent-Perrier are passionate about the art of food and champagne matching. Traditionally served as an apéritif, champagne takes on another dimension when successfully paired with food and can lift a meal to a whole new level. Over Christmas, champagne plays an important part in the festivities so we have some recommended pairings for you. We hope you enjoy them!

Ultra Brut

During the last century The House of Laurent-Perrier was known for its

“Grand Vin Sans Sucre”. This is a totally natural champagne made without the addition of the sugar dosage found in most champagnes. Now called ‘Ultra Brut’ this delicate champagne is still zero dosage and is essentially champagne in its purest form. With delicate floral aromas and a crisp minerality, Ultra Brut is a great pairing for a smoked salmon brunch.

Grande Siède

Laurent-Perrier’s luxury cuvée is a tribute to the two mainstays of Champagne’s know-how: the blending of different crus (wines from separate villages) and the blending of different harvest years. The epitome of Champagne ‘assemblage’, the specific vintages in Grand Siècle are never revealed and are kept the secret of

– 65 –

the Cellar Master. With a unique balance of power and finesse, Grand Siècle is the ideal complement for your Christmas turkey.

Cuvée Rosé

Using the highest quality Pinot Noir grapes, this iconic rosé is one the few rosé champagnes that is made by drawing the juice from black grapes in the vat, instead of blending red and white wines. This gives it the highly expressive bouquet, extraordinary depth and freshness, and delicious red berry flavours that have made it a benchmark for all rosé champagnes around the world. If you are trying something different for the Christmas meal, this would be delicious with veal or duck.

NO PRESSURE BOYS... You’ve found your soul mate, now you just need to find the perfect engagement ring which she’ll love for the rest of her life. No pressure.

G

oogle 'diamond' and you'll end up with a list of sites that teach you how to become an amateur gemologist, and your best bud just keeps saying he might know someone who knows someone who can get you a deal on a diamond. (He doesn’t.) All a little baffling? We’ve assembled some hard-won wisdom that will help you get what you want – which really is all about what she wants!

1 | Act Like a Cat Burglar

Finger size - this may be difficult, as she’s probably never worn a ring on her left hand before. Try and steal one of her other rings but remember the corresponding finger on her right hand isn’t necessarily the same size as her left hand. Alternatively, ask a friend to go shopping with her and try rings on for fun, getting her finger sized at the same time. It is no great problem to adjust a ring to fit after you’ve purchased.

2 | It Might Sting a Little

You’ll hear that you should spend two to three months salary on a ring, but be realistic. Start with what you’re comfortable with, and be prepared to add a little extra if it’ll get you perfection. Interest Free Credit (0% typical APR) allows you to spread the cost of payment a little, instead of paying the lump sum up front.

3 | Know Her Style

Pay attention when she admires someone else’s engagement ring or a ring in an advertisement. Ask her friends and family what she likes. Look in her jewellery box, notice the style of jewellery she wears. Go shopping with her and browse by a few diamond jewellery stores, you’ll get to see firsthand what really catches her eye.

4 | ...Then Turn Her Friends Into Accomplices

Ask her friends (the ones who can keep a secret) if she’s dropped any hints—the type of metal, the cut of the diamond, a design she likes – because trust us, she has.

5 | Think of Yourself for a Minute

She might want her wedding band to match her engagement ring—and some couples like their wedding bands to match, too. In other words: Know that if you get her a rose-gold band, you might also end up wearing rose gold.

6 | Know the Rules of the Rock

You’ll be faced with decisions about the cut of the diamond, the setting style and choice of metal. The diamond accounts for an overwhelming majority of the price of the ring, so we’ll show you the fundamentals that decide a diamond’s value – the 5Cs – Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat Weight & Certification. You can get a quick education online about how gemologists grade stones, but after that, you need guidelines (that’s where we come in). Better cut and clearer colour over more carats? If size matters then your choice is made for you. To give you extra piece of mind, many diamonds are provided with a Diamond Certificate. A Diamond Certificate is a "blueprint" of a diamond. Although, it should only be a small part of your choice. There is no certificate to describe a diamonds mysterious and captivating beauty or explain why she loves one ring more than another.

7 | Go Beyond the White Diamond

These days it’s cool to put some colour on her ring finger; pink diamonds, yellow diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires are all fair game as centre or accent stones.

8 | The Perfect Proposal

Your best mate did it on a beach in Mexico, the guy at the office did it at Edinburgh Castle on Valentine’s Day, and that bloke from the gym even did it at the top of the Empire State Building. So where and how will you do it? ThirtyElevenSeventy (www.301170.co.uk) specialise in perfection. They are agents of romance who make dreams a reality. So, if you know exactly how you want to propose, or you don’t know where to start, then ThirtyElevenSeventy will just help to make it all happen.

BREGUET

INVENTOR OF THE TOURBILLON...

As a brand that represents a great historical and cultural heritage as well as avant-garde technology, Breguet has always had a fascinating ability to innovate. It owes its place in European cultural history to its prodigiously inventive founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823), and its position as a benchmark of Fine Watchmaking to its astonishingly skillful master watchmakers of today. At a time when everybody - companies as much as individuals - seems keen to explore their roots, Breguet’s countless treasures illustrate the most beautiful history that any watchmaking brand could wish to have.

B

orn in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, in 1747, Abraham-Louis Breguet spent much of his life in Paris where many of his important creations were produced. He worked simultaneously in all the areas of watchmaking, beginning his career with a series of masterly inventions: the automatic watch, referred to as “a perpetual”, the gong spring for repeater watches, and the first shock-absorber device, the “pare-chute”. Breguet watches contained original movements, with anchor or cylinder escapements, that were constantly improved. King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette were among his clients.

When the dark hours of the French revolution arrived, Breguet returned to his native city, taking a host of inventions with him. These included the Breguet balance spring, the first travelling clock - which was sold to Napoleon - the “sympathique” clock, the tactile watch, and the tourbillon, an indisputable demonstration of his genius. This new type of regulator was recognised with a patent from the French Minister of the Interior on 26 June 1801 or, rather, 7 Messidor Year 9 since the Republican calendar was still in force. Breguet was admired in all the Royal courts of Europe and became the principal watchmaker of the elite in the worlds of

– 74 –

diplomacy, science, finance and the military. For his most prestigious clients he created special pieces, including the very first wristwatch, produced in 1810 for Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples. He was showered with honours and became a member of the Office of Longitudes and Horology of the Royal French Navy. He also entered the Academy of Sciences and received the Legion of Honour from King Louis XVIII. At his death in 1823, he was eulogised as a man whose genius had revolutionised every aspect of timekeeping.

ROX MAGAZINE

Inventor of the Tourbillon…

O

n June 26th 1801 the French Minister of the Interior awarded Abraham-Louis Breguet a patent for the invention of the tourbillon. This new type of regulator was developed in response to a longstanding problem: the fact that gravity exercises a detrimental effect on the regularity of a movement by generating variations in rate. Breguet understood that in order to reduce such errors, he would need to install the entire escapement within a mobile carriage that would perform a complete rotation, generally in one, four or six minutes. The regular repetition of the variations would allow them to compensate for each other. This supremely ingenious invention turned out to be exceedingly difficult to produce, and of all Breguet’s brilliant ideas, was undoubtedly the toughest to implement. One of the reasons behind this daunting task relates to the weight of the tourbillon, which must be sufficiently light at no more than one gram, and yet also robust, so as to avoid inducing rating errors rather than eliminating them. This inherent difficulty was compounded by that of finishing the over 70 tiny parts that must fit and mesh together with absolute precision. Making a tourbillon was not within reach of all watchmakers, and only the finest proved capable of producing one after the 10-year patent had expired.

From Renaissance to Permanence

I

n 1999, when the late Nicolas G. Hayek took control of Breguet, this jewel of Fine Watchmaking was in hibernation. His genuine passion breathed new life into the brand whose exceptional heritage and expertise was recognised by

WATCHES

all the great names in the industry. He had the vision to restore Breguet to greatness by reviving its cultural and emotional dimensions. A new chapter in the Breguet story began, taking on daring challenges in its commitment to continue creating beautiful treasures through the fusion of art, beauty and technology. In 2003, a new Breguet Manufacture capable of achieving its ambitions was opened. 3 years later an extension was added and in 2011 a new enlargement project was launched that will be completed in 2013. 2011 also saw the company incorporate the watch case manufacturer, Favre et Perret to form a new entity, Montres Breguet, Manufacture de boîtes.

“King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette were among his clients.”

Meanwhile, the recruitment of highly qualified watchmakers was accelerated, together with the training programme in which specialists who excelled in particular arts or crafts handed on the brand’s centuries of expertise. The company invested regularly in the latest control technology and in Research & Development. Nicolas G. Hayek placed great emphasis on research and notably initiated work on new materials with the application of silicon in watchmaking. Under his leadership, Breguet developed and filed a remarkable number of new patents and it continues to do so under its new President, Marc A. Hayek.

The Manufacture also achieved the feat of developing a new movement every year, several of which were truly revolutionary. Its ability to innovate has firmly established Breguet as a benchmark in contemporary Fine Watchmaking, in addition to the unique position it already held as part of Europe’s cultural heritage.

Traditional Values

I

t is not only connoisseurs who understand that owning a Breguet means owning something exceptional. For many people, the originality and timeless style of the watches expresses a philosophy and an identity that clearly sets them apart. Their simple lines, their refinement and their special Breguet features delight collectors and all lovers of the brand. The famous Breguet hands in blued steel with the off-centre, openwork “moon” tip have graced its watches for more than 200 years. Fluted casebands have also been an integral part of the restrained “Breguet style.” One of its most precious attributes is the manually engine-turned dials of its watches since 1786. Today more than ever under its President and CEO Marc A. Hayek, Breguet is committed to respecting the legacy of its founder. The company offers an increasingly fascinating range of timepieces that combine refined design with technical complications.

HUBLOT & FERRARI THE GREAT STEP FORWARD Words by Agusto Capitanucci

In Maranello, bespoke cars are manufactured just like pieces of fine watchmaking, the names Ferrari and Hublot are both synonymous with excellence and technological innovation, elegance and passion.

I

n order to fully comprehend the meaning of the term “manufacture”, it is not enough to look up its definition in a dictionary or encyclopaedia. In fact, it is not even enough to visit just any watchmaking factory; once you have entered into the reality of the Hublot universe, you risk ruining everything you ever thought you knew until that very moment. In Nyon, the very birthplace of the timepieces with the grand H logo on its dial, nothing is left to chance, not only in terms of quality of materials but also in terms of true quality of life. The Hublot brand – a star in the constellation of the LVMH group – shares these values with the legendary car manufacturer Ferrari. It is therefore not surprising that on the 5th November last year, the two companies

became intimately linked by a sort of “pact” which Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot, declared as being one of his childhood dreams: “I have always dreamed of owning a Ferrari. Today this union has not only realised my dream, it has gone beyond it. For us, this collaboration rich in synergies represents a powerful thrust of the accelerator”. Although the characteristics shared by both products, initially appear very different, when examined more closely, numerous similarities become clear. Let’s start with their “motors” which are driven by gears powered in one instance by fuel, and in the other by the barrel and its spiral, or the output given by 8 and 12 cylinder engine made by Ferrari and Hublot’s mechanical movements,

– 76 –

automatic or manual, tourbillon, split seconds chronograph or minute repeater. Then come the intrinsically sporty, 2 or 4-seater models, hatch, spider or “family” cars, such as the four-wheel drive Ferrari FF, which could be compared to Hublot timepieces such as the Big Bang, the new generation King Power, and of course, the Masterpieces. To these, two new realities were added, which emphasise the many similarities between Ferrari and Hublot: the customisation Ferrari Tailor Made project and an equivalent program conducted by Hublot with products which will be released within the next 5. Hublot will create pieces dedicated to iconic automobiles and unforgettable vehicles, such as the 250 GTO, which will be added to the special edition timekeepers created

ROX MAGAZINE

specifically for avid collectors like the beautiful red Maranello bodywork. n the case of the Ferrari Tailor Made program, the project is the result of the desire to create vehicles that have come “straight out of a dream”. The Ferrari name has always been synonymous with excellence, state-ofthe-art mechanics, power and unrivalled technological innovation. In the tradition with this concept, the program is aimed at customers who are looking for tailor-made personalisation and individuality for their vehicle, reflecting their taste. With, as a bonus, constant research and development work performed by “Centro Stile Ferrari” (Ferrari Style Centre), which is inspired by the companies key values: innovation, elegance and passion. A dream has become reality and it is aimed at a limited number of customers. Each is literally guided by a team of experts under the supervision of a personal designer whose role is to ensure the unique character of vehicles created and to ensure that they conform with the Ferrari brand and its traditions. Three collections are proposed and closely related to the DNA of Ferrari: Scuderia, Classica and Inedita. In these, Hublot finds the alter ego of its own models such as the Classic Fusion line, which reflects the concept of the classic hatch designed by Enzo Ferrari, and the Big Bang, which embodies the uncompromising power of modern day GTs. The most successful “tailor-made manufacture” of Hublot watches, also known as Atelier Complication, is housed in a special manufacturing wing on the Route de la Vuarpillière, in Nyon, just a few minutes from Geneva in Switzerland. It is here that Hublot creates the most

WATCHES

I

sought after complications which collectors throughout the world aspire to own, such as tourbillons, minute repeaters, split second chronographs. In this wing of Hublot, where silence and concentration are sacred, an extremely limited number of watches are manufactured. Master watchmakers assemble complicated movement components, not mechanically, but by testing each piece, one by one. It is here that each timepiece is designed and put in motion by hand and with great care to such intense details as manually adjusting even the spiral within the barrel of the power reserve. t is this so-called “series” that strives to maintain the same standards of the Atelier Complication Hublot or the Ferrari Tailor Made projects. Exclusivity and luxury are the chromosomes connecting the DNA of these two brands that do not allow exceptions or leave room for error. To achieve this, each component, from the movements, cases and dials of the watches, through to the design of the instrument panels, quality leather seats and finishing touches on the vehicle bodywork is always created or checked internally. This is a guarantee that once complete, each piece of the puzzle corresponds to the requirements and productive quality expected. At Hublot, there are entire departments dedicated to micro technology and electronic engineering, information technology and chemistry for the process of galvanisation. At Ferrari, all of this can be found in the departments dedicated to research and development that take inspiration from the experiences of the Scuderia’s Formula 1™ races or by the designers, another profession shared by the two manufacturers. There is a similarity in all of this: watch-makers who assemble watches or apply the decorative finishes, find their counterparts in the team of experts of the Cavallino that shape the leather for each dashboard mould by hand. To do this, they use a tool similar

I

– 77 –

to an everyday hair dryer which makes it possible to follow the curves of the passenger compartment.

“Hublot creates the most sought after complications which collectors throughout the world aspire to own.”

L

ast, but certainly not least: the common philosophy that drives the Maranello and Nyon companies. There are currently two genuine manufacturers who work on the entire assembly line from the foundries right up to the production of minuscule components that are almost invisible. The 8 cylinder engines are created on an assembly line, just like the Unico movement, which is produced internally by Hublot. Furthermore, the 12 cylinder engines are assembled by hand by a single person, from the start right through to the end of the process. The human factor is therefore the key ingredient to this successful recipe which goes against the current of modern (computerised) manufacturing that prefers quantity over exclusivity. At this stage, all that now remains is to take a position on the start line with the Hublot timepieces to be created, such as the “Ferrari Official Watch”, the “Scuderia Ferrari Official Watch”, the “Ferrari Official Timekeepers”, the “Scuderia Ferrari Official Timekeeper” and the “Ferrari Challenge Official Timekeeper”.

We’d like to tell you everything about our collaboration with the B-2 Stealth Bomber squadron, but frankly, we’d prefer not to stand trial for treason. So instead, here are the main points. 1. The B-2 Stealth Bomber is, as the name suggests, designed to avoid detection. 2. It’s also incredibly accurate. 3. Flying at 40,000 feet, it can aim a bomb through a window. 4. The squadron wanted to commission a watch with similar levels of precision. 5. So they went to Switzerland? 6. No, Henley-on-Thames. 7. Yes, we know it’s a bit of a surprise.

8. But here at Bremont, we’ve designed watches for dozens of squadrons over the last ten years. 9. The watch we built for the B-2 squadron is 99.998% accurate. 10. (We have a certificate to prove it.) 11. The watch displays both local time and Universal Co-ordinated Time (the standard reference time used by the military). 12. That’s handy if you’re flying across multiple time zones on forty-hour sorties, like B-2 pilots do. 13. The watch has been tested at altitudes of up to 100,000 feet. 14. And it’s water resistant to a depth of 100 metres.

15. (Sometimes missions can go wrong.) 16. The case is made from steel that’s seven times harder than you’ll find in ordinary watches. 17. Until recently, the only way you could get hold of a B-2 pilot’s watch was to become a B-2 pilot. 18. But now we’ve built a version for civilians. 19. We’d like to say more, but we may already have said too much. 20. To be on the safe side, please eat this page.

diver WATCHES

Style and durability are key features of a serious divers watch. Expect water resistance to depths of 100m as standard.

classic WATCHES

They’re classics for a reason. If the design looked good 30, 40, 50 or more years ago and still looks good today, the chances are it’ll still look pretty sharp 20 years from now.

OLYMPUS OM-D E-MI CAMERA Pro Quality gear at a fraction of the price, this DLSR camera is the new breed of super tech packed into a lightweight shell. It’s dust-proof, water-resistant, freeze-proof and built from magnesium alloy meaning it can take a fair amount of abuse. Add in a massive 16-megapixel live MOS sensor, image stabilisation, auto focus and Wi-Fi and you have a serious bit of kit in your hands and you won’t need to be a scientist to make it work.

3 BREMONT WORLDTIMER WATCH The wonderfully over-engineered Bremont World Timer, ALT1-WT features a very complex, highly finished dial and a Roto-Click bezel. This enables the user to work out the global time zones using the International landing location in all 24 time zones. The watch itself can show UTC or 'Zulu' time through its adjustable 24-hour hand. It’s safe to say, The Bremont World Timer is one of the more intricate and complicated military watches ever produced. 57012 | £4195

BREGUET GRANDE COMPLICATION We all know that Breguet is one of the most reputable and innovative watch manufacturers in the world and they certainly don’t disappoint with the Classique Grande Complication 3357BR. Honouring the noble and technically challenging repeater mechanism, the generations of Breguet watchmakers have driven their art to new heights with its design. Complete with tourbillion, Hand-wound movement and engraved by hand… if it’s good enough for royalty..

7

LEAP MOTION CONTROL DEVICE Imagine if you could do things on your computer just like you do them in real life. If natural movements replaced all those clicks and taps and drags and drops. Imagine if technology finally figured out people, instead of the other way around. That’s the future. The Leap Motion Controller senses your hands and fingers and follows their every move. It lets them move in all that wide-open space between you and your computer. So you can do almost anything without touching anything. It’s the tiny device that just might change the way you use technology. Touch, poke, drop, drag, click or scroll like never before.

2

HUBLOT LA FERRARI WATCH The Masterpiece MP-05 La Ferrari is based on the far-out silhouette of Ferrari’s new hypercar 'LaFerrari’. This ‘engine block for the wrist’ boasts a 637-part, laterally positioned movement incorporating 11 spring barrels that enable the watch to run for 50 days (days!) without being re-wound – record setting. Fifty examples were made, making it almost ten times rarer than the car itself. A steal at £250,000.

4

SENNHEISER IE 800 IN EAR HEADPHONES Quite simply the most beautiful in ear headphones on the market, and the most sonically perfect. This is the entire concert hall in your head, orchestra included. Sennheiser’s years of technological advancement in the field of audio engineering brought to bear in one beautifully crafted package. Harmonic distortion levels are so low as to be (apparently) non-existent. Ceramic housings and dampened two-chamber absorbers also let you know that these small, unassuming-looking ear-buds mean business. Yours for £600.

6 LG CURVED OLED TV The LG Curved ‘OLED’ TV is a champion with nothing else in its class. This is an I-Max in your living room. A TV with built in 3D & Smart TV tech, a 55inch curved screen that’s only 4.3mm thick and with more colours than the rainbow. The boffins say that they do this by passing electrical current through a biological substance and make it glow without a backlight. Now that’s progress.
