Vikings were very talented metal smiths. This pendant has the shape of a Thor’s hammer, and is the only one of its kind with exceptional craftsmanship. This is just one of the rare artifacts you can see in Vikings: Lives Beyond the Legends. Try your best to copy the drawing of the pendant below, or sculpt it using play dough or plasticine.

Also known as Younger Funthark, Vikings had their own way of recording history. Usage of the Younger Futhark can be found in Scandinavia and Viking Age settlements abroad. It was most likely in use from the 9th century onward. While Elder Funthark had been an actual “secret” known only to the

literate elite, with only some 350 surviving inscriptions, literacy of Younger Funthark became widespread in Scandinavia, and found on thousands of Runestones.
