insight: director colin lawson’s tenth anniversary reception and recital 7pm | Parry Rooms Available to all Circles for Excellence Patrons The current academic year marks Professor Colin Lawson’s tenth anniversary as Director of the RCM. Join us to celebrate Colin’s ten-year tenure, and to hear highlights of his time at the College and bold vision for the future. Featuring musical performances from past and present RCM students, and from Colin himself, this will be a celebration to remember.

Please join us for a drinks reception followed by an evening of Viennese-themed musical entertainment by RCM musicians. This yearly Salon ends with a convivial buffet dinner with the musicians and fellow Circles for Excellence Patrons.

Stravinsky Symphony in 3 Movements Capriccio Song of the Nightingale The Firebird Suite (1945 version) The RCM Symphony Orchestra returns to London’s Royal Festival Hall to perform a thrilling all-Stravinsky programme exploring the myths and rituals behind his works. Expect to be captivated by the orchestral wizardry of The Firebird Suite and impressed by the technical feats of award-winning RCM pianist Samson Tsoy (David Young Piano Prize and The Howard and Abby Milstein Foundation Scholar). Circle of Excellence Patrons are invited to join RCM Director, Professor Colin Lawson for pre-performance and interval receptions. This concert is part of the Philharmonia Orchestra’s Stravinsky: Myths & Rituals series supported by Vincent Meyer.

Available to all Circles for Excellence Patrons Once again, we are delighted to offer a musical evening in the garden of RCM Patrons Richard and Sue Price. Join us, and enjoy an evening of music accompanied by wine and canapés.

Chairman’s Opera Reception: Hänsel und Gretel reception 6pm | Director’s Meeting Room opera 7pm | Britten Theatre Available to Director’s Circle and Chairman’s Circle Patrons This summer the RCM International Opera School presents Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, directed and conducted by Olivier award-winning team Liam Steel and Michael Rosewell. Hänsel and Gretel are kicked out of the house for misbehaving and find themselves lost in the woods. When they’re captured by a witch who delights in turning children into gingerbread, the cheeky heroes have to use all their cunning to escape in this playful opera. Director’s and Chairman’s Circle members are invited to join us for a pre-performance reception hosted by RCM Chairman Professor Lord Winston and Director, Professor Colin Lawson featuring a introductory talk by Liam Steel.

Soirée d’Or 2016 Victoria & Albert Museum
You are invited to kick off the festive season with the highlight of the events calendar, our annual fundraising gala Soiree d’Or in support of the RCM Scholarship Fund. The evening will consist of a champagne reception, followed by dinner with performances from some of the RCM’s most gifted students. Individual tickets cost £400 and tables of 10 or 12 are available.
