Theatre Summer School
Mon 5 – Fri 9 & Mon 12 – Thu 15 Aug, 11am-5pm
Develop your performance skills and confidence as you work with Creative Director Chris Sudworth on the first staging of new drama The Case Of Whilton College, an outstanding new script written by Ryan Leder, a graduate of Corby Young Actors. The performance will take place on the evening of Thursday 15 August. Ages: 13-21 Price: £100 for two weeks

Play In A Week
Make your own short film in just five days in this popular award-winning project with professional film-maker Martin Steed. Make new friends and learn all the skills you need to script, shoot, edit and bring your idea to The Core’s big screen by the end of the week.
Tumble into the curious, topsy-turvy world of Alice In Wonderland and discover the wonderful characters she meets along the way in this summer’s Play In A Week. Have lots of fun and make new friends as you re-create this charming tale with The Core’s Lisa Byrne and perform it to your friends and family at the end of the week.

Confident young musicians of all styles are welcome to weave melodies and rhythms to find The New Sound in these masterclasses led by top contemporary jazz artists Arun Ghosh and Jason Yarde. Musicians taking part in these sessions are expected to commit to 3 further rehearsals and a performance alongside the headline artists during the following month. Frantic Assembly: Ignition
Corby Youth Arts Slam
Award-winning company Frantic Assembly are holding taster sessions for their Ignition project. Along with actors and dancers, they want to meet footballers, free runners, swimmers, skaters and gymnasts. Those who are successful at the tasters will be called back for the regional trials on Thursday 10 October.
All The Core’s young people’s groups come together to showcase the fantastic work they have created over the term in this high energy celebration of local talent. Expect an inspiring mix of music, movement, media and more in this uplifting end to the Get Involved season.

The Deep Roots Tall Trees Choir formed following the Queen’s Jubilee visit to Corby in 2012 and has gone from strength to strength. This fun and laid back choir attracts singers of all levels of ability and experience, led by professional choir director, Gareth Fuller. In partnership with Corby Community Arts, Deep Roots Tall Trees & Rosalind Stoddart.
If you are aged 50 or over, come along to The Core and get creative with like-minded people in a warm, welcoming and social environment. You will get to try a range of activities from music to poetry, drama to dance and much more. Don’t worry if you can’t make it every week, we will be pleased to see you at any session.

Anyone is welcome to The Core’s resident writers’ collective. The Stand supports writers to develop their style and skills in a relaxed environment. The collective regularly performs - as a group and as individuals - and hosts events at The Core and other venues.
