Schools Newsletter Welcome to a brand new term and a fantastic season of work here at The Core. As always there are lots of ways you can get inspired, get creative and get involved with us. We have a great choice of shows but also wrap-around activities too. Always keep in mind that we love to hear from you and really encourage partnership working, so get in touch if you have any question or queries. Returning to The Core after a sell-out run last year, this exciting production of Macbeth – Blood Will Have Blood is an accessible and unforgettable introduction to Shakespeare’s shocking story of ambition and greed re-invented for 9-13 years-olds. Using razor sharp storytelling, a dramatic on-screen world and a heart-stopping soundtrack, this one-man adaptation by The Core’s Director Nick Walker, takes us on a break-neck journey through the blood-soaked world of Macbeth in the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare’s death. Into Film Festival Wed 9 November The Into Film Festival is the world’s largest free film and education event for schools and 5-19 year olds across the UK .

The Festival will support teachers in delivering the curriculum, across subject areas, in a dynamic and engaging way. It offers all young people wider life experiences and the chance to immerse themselves in the magic of cinema. A Christmas Carol

The most famous festive tale of all time, A Christmas Carol, is brought to life in a brilliantly entertaining new version. Wealthy miser Ebenezer Scrooge is all set to greet Christmas Day with his traditional ‘bah humbug’! Not this year… the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future have other ideas, and with the clock ticking they appear on Christmas Eve to see if they can show him the real meaning of Christmas before it’s too late. Featuring some of the best-loved Dickensian characters, this heart-warming hourlong adaptation of the timeless classic is written and directed by Gary Sefton who was behind the much loved Christmas shows Hansel & Gretel at The Core as well as The Wind In The Willows and A Christmas Carol at Royal & Derngate. The Tiger Who Came To Tea Fri 24 March 1.30pm & 4.30pm & Sat 25 March 11am & 2pm Back by popular demand, the tea-guzzling tiger is returning to Corby in the delightful family shotw The Tiger Who Came To Tea; a musical play adapted and directed by David Wood, based on the book by Judith Kerr.

Packed with oodles of magic, singa-long songs and clumsy chaos, this is a stunning stage adaptation of the classic tale of teatime mayhem... expect to be surprised! Perfect for Key Stage 1 pupils. Tickets Schools £10.50

Dance Discover In A Day

An established dance practitioner will work with a class throughout the whole day to discover dance as an art form, find out about dance artists and dance work and share their experiences with each other. The day will include a Discover Arts Award Certificate. Available Tuesdays and Fridays throughout term. Play In A Day/Play In A Week

During the course of a day or a week your class or school can work with a practitioner to develop a play to showcase. This can be from a written piece or themed to your curriculum. Careers Day

See backstage and meet professionals working within the theatre through all departments. Arts Award

We can deliver Arts Award across all 5 levels. Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. We can deliver one off projects like Discover in a Day and Bronze in a week, or work with you to align Arts Award across existing activities including after school clubs or end of year showcases.
