Welcome What an exciting line up of activity we have in store for you this Winter and Spring at The Core. The team are working hard on final preparations for our wonderful Christmas show, Beauty And The Beast which opens on Friday 7 December. Expect live music, fun and magic throughout this charming tale about how beastliness is only skin deep. I am particularly delighted this season to welcome the highly acclaimed immersive theatre experience Trainspotting Live to the stage. Having seen the show at this years’ Edinburgh Festival Fringe, I can tell you that it is a full-on rollercoaster ride. Expect all of the energy, poetry, excitement and humour of Irvine Welsh’s Trainspotting, but expect it up close and ‘in yer face’. We have a huge line up for comedy lovers this season and are thrilled to welcome Gary Delaney in January, Justin Moorhouse and Larry Dean in February and Sindhu Vee and Matt Forde in March, joined by rising stars in our monthly comedy club Screaming Blue Murder. We also look forward to Corby Amateur Theatrical Society taking to the stage with Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs just after Christmas and Weldon Amateur Theatre School’s version of the ’70s classic Grease. It will also be our very special privilege to host the first contribution from The Core’s new Playwriting Ensemble. Carword will feature a series of 10 minute plays written by first time local writers, all of which take place in a car. Finally, as ever, our studio space The Lab is overflowing with opportunities for anyone to be creative. We have something to engage all ages in our Get Involved sessions – take a look towards the back of this brochure to find out more. The Core is your theatre, your forum, your space to explore, debate, laugh and reflect. Please come in and be a part of the story. Joe Flavin, Director
