Autumn 2021
Welcome Back After months of ups and downs and baby steps, our doors are open once again and we are delighted to be able to brighten up your Autumn with a packed programme of shows and activities. We are thrilled to be working with Imagine Theatre to bring you a Christmas Show like no other. Sleeping Beauty with a twist and more than a handful of glitter will be taking over our stage this year. Santa Claus himself will also be dropping by for a visit that will delight Corby’s younger folk in December. We have loads to look forward to in The Lab this season with the return of Screaming Blue Murder as well as new theatre work from Eastern Angles, StammerMouth and Charmaine Childs. Frozen Light return with 2065, a show made especially for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and Aca Theatre join us at Halloween for a completely accessible clown show – We All Wobble.
Core Calls
We recently commissioned local artist Rosie-May to make two murals for our bar area. Better Together reflects on finding hope in lockdown, whilst Show Time (shown above) celebrates the reopening of The Core. We first worked with Rosie May for our Core Calls project in 2020. Rosie, along with 4 other artists, spoke on the phone to vulnerable members of the Corby community and then created artwork based on the conversations.
As we start to emerge into the world post Covid, I wanted to say a special thank you to all those individuals, organisations and funders who have rallied around The Core in the past 18 months. It has been a tough time for all and no less for theatres and we are grateful for the kind words, advocacy and generosity that you have given us. Thanks too to DCMS Culture Recovery Fund which provided a lifeline for The Core at the most challenging time.
