Spring 2022
Welcome
We have a lot to look forward to this Christmas and into the Spring at The Core as we welcome more and more of our loyal audiences back to the building. We’ve been so grateful for your incredible support during the pandemic and are excited to be back! We have three great shows on offer for all ages throughout the festive period with Sleeping Beauty starring Divina De Campo bringing a certain sass to the stage this year. Younger audiences can meet Santa and receive a free gift in Santa’s Magical Mystery Guest. Lastly, we welcome CATS back to the stage in January with the long anticipated panto Beauty And The Beast. Our Get Involved programme is particularly packed this coming season, with lots of activities for children, young people and community members to take part in. If you are a young person interested in music, performance, theatre or comedy or if you know someone who would like to join the ranks at The Core, then please see page 25 onwards of this brochure. There are lots of opportunities to perform on our stages this Spring, from The Bangers & Mash Comedy Club to Ndance and the Youth Music Showcase with our friends at Made with Many. Finally, huge thanks are due to our incredible team of volunteers who have done so much to support The Core over the past few months as we reopened our doors after restrictions were lifted. The Core could not exist without these incredible people and we are forever grateful for their service. If you would like to volunteer at The Core, we would love to hear from you, please email volunteer@thecorecorby.com. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at The Core in the coming months!
Core Calls
We recently commissioned local artist Rosie-May to make two murals for our bar area. Better Together (shown above) reflects on finding hope in lockdown, whilst Show Time celebrates the reopening of The Core. We first worked with Rosie May for our Core Calls project in 2020. Rosie, along with 4 other artists, spoke on the phone to vulnerable members of the Corby community and then created artwork based on the conversations.
Although restrictions around COVID-19 have now been eased, please be assured that we will continue to ensure that your experience is as safe and as comfortable as possible. The safety of our audiences, staff and artists is of paramount importance to us. As the guidance from government continues to evolve, rest assured that we will continue to follow the latest guidance at all times. We will continue to implement an enhanced cleaning regime between shows. We will be using e-tickets which can be checked hands free. You can either print off or present your ticket for scanning on your phone.
