Ralph Fiennes directs and stars in a world premiere adaptation of T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets. Compelling, moving and symphonic, Four Quartets offer four interwoven meditations on the nature of time, faith, and the quest for spiritual enlightenment. Written during WWII when the closure of playhouses during the Blitz interrupted Eliot’s work in theatre, the four parts (Burnt Norton, East Coker, The Dry Salvages and Little
Gidding) were the culminating achievement of Eliot’s Nobel Prize winning literary career. Ralph Fiennes’ distinguished stage work is matched by performances in some of the greatest films of our time, including Schindler’s List; The English Patient; The Grand Budapest Hotel; The Constant Gardner; Skyfall; In Bruges; The Dig and the Harry Potter series.

Led by Duncan Riddell, the Strings of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra return with an exquisite 75-minute concert performing a selection of well-loved pieces. Grieg’s popular Holberg Suite is supremely crafted, based on eighteenth-century dance forms, while Mendelssohn’s String Symphony No.10 displays a touch of his sensitive style. Completing the programme is Tchaikovsky’s sublime Serenade For Strings. A work inspired by Mozart and described by the composer as written ‘from the heart’, the Serenade is the perfect piece to showcase the luscious sounds of the RPO’s strings.
Enjoy iconic theme songs and thrilling Bond anthems from over fifty years of box office blockbusters as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra promises to take you to double-0-heaven!
