Il vasto parco in cui oggi si trova l'hotel è appartenuto alla famiglia reale dei Borbone prima e ai principi russi Cortchacow poi; per secoli è stato teatro di sfarzose feste, salotto internazionale e luogo di ritrovo degli aristocratici europei.
Negli anni ’60 viene commissionata a Gio Ponti la progettazione all'interno dell'area di un nuovo edificio destinato all’ospitalità, di cui l'architetto milanese cura tutto: dalle fondamenta agli arredi fino alle decorazioni.
The vast park in which the hotel is now located belonged first to the Borbone royal family and then to the Russian princes Cortchacow: for centuries it was the venue for lavish parties, an international salon, and a meeting place for European aristocrats.
In the 1960s, Gio Ponti was commissioned to design a new hospitality building within the area, and the Milanese architect took care of everything, from the foundations to the furnishings and decorations.

La piscina è uno specchio di acqua marina immerso nel verde, abitato da penisole e da un trampolino-scala che emerge dal fondo. Il mare è accessibile dalla piccola spiaggia di sassolini oppure dalla scogliera a mezzaluna che si snoda sinuosa nel mare delle Sirene.
The pool is a mirror of seawater immersed in greenery, inhabited by peninsulas and a ladder-diving board that emerges from the depths. The sea is accessible from the small pebble beach or the crescent-shaped cliff that meanders gracefully into the Sirens' sea.
