Commercial Services up-date from Gillian So much has happened in the last 6 months it is difficult to know where to start. The most significant changes are obviously the opening of the Emily Wilding Davidson Building and George Eliot Hall but there have been so many other developments alongside these. The Café on the Square and the relaunch of the Boilerhouse have enabled a far more diverse and interesting catering offer on campus along with a review of menus and character of all outlets. There has also been a highly successful programme of refurbishment and repair in the Halls of Residence which will not only improve the appearance of these halls but also deal with a number of maintenance issues to reduce equipment failures.

also ranked 28th overall, in the Times Good University Guide up 6 places from last year. Unfortunately, we also saw a drop in our world ranking in Times Higher Education World University Rankings from 173 to 197, but this still keeps us a Global Top 200 University. Whilst league tables are not perfect measures of university performance they are key to many students when deciding which university to consider and these great results will help us ensure we can continue to attract high quality students.

The structuring of the arrivals weekend over 2 days resulted in an incredibly smooth arrivals process and the most positive first impression for all our students. I know that none of these changes and achievements came about by accident and their success was due to the hard work and dedication of all of you. Thank you!
