In This Issue... Hello Members, You might notice that this issue of La Vie looks a little bit different than usual. We are taking this opportunity to highlight our staff and Members in a photo display of what has undoubtedly been a unique and unprecedented time in history! It is necessary to acknowledge how our ROCC Family has cooperated with all the changes and adjustments, and we have tried to accomplish just that in these pages. We look forward to discovering and phasing into a 'new normal' with all of you!

Royal Oaks Country Club

Ladies Association Hello ROCCLA Members! Hopefully by the time you read this, we will be on the other side of the Covid-19 health crisis, with restrictions beginning to be relaxed, and normal, daily activities starting to be resumed. Life has been very quiet these last couple of months (except perhaps for those that are home-schooling young kids!), and I am sure we all missed getting together with our families and friends. Before the shut down, the Ladies Association Board and Activity Chairs had planned a full calendar of events and activities for the year. We have had to cancel some of these (HCC Fashion Show and dinner), and postpone others until later in the year (e.g. Wine & Unwind Yoga, Speaker Talk and luncheon with author Katherine Center, a second round of Mahjong lessons, etc). We also had to postpone our joint ROCCLA/WGA Party by the Pool, and our very popular Cocktails and Croquet Happy Hour - hopefully we can fit these into the Fall schedule. We will continue to make plans and see how things progress. All we can do just now is keep planning, keep things on the calendar, and hope for the best. Zoom and Houseparty have been great apps for people to keep in touch during the quarantine. ROCCLA posted a zoom invitation on the ROCCLA NextDoor page and held a few zoom sessions in April. It was a fun way to chat to our friends, and for Book Club to discuss their April book.

When the Club is able to open it’s doors again, ROCCLA will resume Happy Hours and start up as many activities and events as we can within any government guidelines that might be in place. In the meantime, the Club has done an extraordinary job of keeping things going! The golf course is busier than ever, tennis courts are open for play and instruction, and online video workout classes are available using Facebook. The Bistro staff and our new chef and her team have been working hard to provide food options, with some tasty take-out/ delivery food and drinks menus to help us through the long days. I certainly enjoyed being able to order ‘out’, and have a break from cooking. Until we can resume normal activities, keep in touch with your friends, reach out to your neighbors, especially if they are on their own, help people when you can. We are an Association of friends above all else. Hope to see you soon. Julie Gray ROCCLA President.

The Ladies have been gathering virtually for Zoom Happy Hours!

Socially Distant Celebrations We've been finding creative ways to Make Memories at the Club!

Easter Valet was decorated for everyone picking up their Brunch To-Go orders and our Easter Bunny was on the move visiting families in the neighborhood! Did you get a chance to say hi and take a picture?

Cinco de Mayo Cinco de Mayo was on a Taco Tuesday this year, so we had to have a fiesta with margaritas and sangria outside! Everyone who cruised by got to try some cocktails and enjoy a live Mariachi Band!

Mother's Day Moms were greeted with a 'Mom'-osa Bar on Mother's day, complete with garnishes and fresh fruit juices for the perfect customized drink. These were on the house for our Moms as a thanks for all they do.
