EDITORIAL This summer has been very active for the group which perhaps goes without saying, since I have been restricted to a few sentences, letters to the editor and the book reviews have had to be put into cold storage for the next edition, and still the publication is almost twice the size, in order to report on all our activities, including of course, the DURHAMCONFERENCE. It goes without warm thanks are the organisers,

saying that extended to the lecturers

we all had a busy time, and our very all those who contributed to the weekends and the people who looked after us all.

Compiling this bumper edition has taken longer than I would have wished, and so in order that future editions are kept in step with publication dates, the next COPY DATE IS 30TH SEPTEMBER and I mean it to thoa.e who tend not to believe me1 As always your contributions are most welcome. Please sending material whether you wish it to be returned. and often money. Thank you. Angela Clarke
