WithChristmasalmostuponus,theAVyearhasprettymuchwrappedupfor2022, andhasbeenamixofZoomandlivemeetings.Iexpectthat2023willfollowthe samepattern,withmaybeaswingfromon-linebacktolivesessions.Thereisroom forboth-lookingatmycalendarfor2023,IseemtohaveanequalnumberofZoom bookingsandliveones!Hopefullytherewillbeenoughliveeventsforlotsofusto actuallymeetface-to-faceatsomepointnextyear.

IjoinedtheRPSandwentontogaintheFRPSinAVin1987. Ihavebeenattendingandenteringnationaland internationalAVfestivalsbecauseIamquitecompetitiveand enjoymeetinglike-mindedpeople.IfindAVagoodwayto expressmyselfandhavelearntsomuchbyresearchingmy ownandwatchingotherpeople’ssequences.Ilovemusic andmyloveofmusichelpsmeinthemakingofmy sequences.
Mylifelonginterestinphotographyhasgainedmemany friendsallovertheworldaswellasearningalivingfromit.
MyinterestinphotographystartedwhenIwas13yearsoldaftermyfatherbought meacameraformybirthday.Togetherwejoinedaclubandtheinterestgrew. WhenIwas17mycamerawentwrong,soItookitforrepair,itwasthenthatI appliedforajobrepairingcameras.Eversincethenthathasbeenmyprofession untilIretiredat65.
PeterhasbeenmakingAVsforovertenyearsnow,starting withsequencestopresentphotographsinaninteresting wayandtorecordfamilyeventsandholidays. HegainedhisARPSinMultiMediain2018,inadditiontohis ARPSinVisualArt.Hissequenceshavegainedcreditat MidphotandtheGreatNorthernAVfestivals.Hehasserved asjudgeforovertenyearsandleadstheAVGroupatthe BeaconCameraClubinMalvern.
Sue'sinterestinAVhasgrownfromanenthusiasmfor photographyandapassionfortravel.AVhasalwaysseemed tohertheperfectwayofmakingcreativeuseofthose hundredsofphotosstoredonthecomputer.Whilstshehas notenteredmanycompetitionsNationallyorInternationally, shehasbeenencouragedbyagoodlevelofsuccessather localCameraClub'sAVgroupinMalvern,Worcestershire. ForSue,awinningAVshoulddemonstrateacombinationof engagingstory-telling,goodphotography,asensitivelyconstructedsoundtrack and,mostimportantly,havethatsomethingextrathatleavesalastingimpression.

Photographerswereencouragedtoexplorethephotographicmediumandtouseitto communicatetheirownpersonalvisionincorporatingfeeling,sensesandimagination totheviewer.Thephotographywasnotrestrictedinanyway,neitherinsubject matternorinmanipulationduringthetakingorreproductionstagesofthe photographyprovidedthatitaddressesthethemeof‘Glass'insomeway.
Asusual,thejudges basedtheirjudgementsonhowwellthesequencesinterpretthe theme.Inotherwords,theywillplaceanexcellentlyproducedsequencewithlittle relevanceto'Glass' lower thanaslightlylessaccomplishedsequencewithfar greaterrelevance.
