his month I got to sit down with the two people behind Goldmine Entertainment. Goldilocks & Brain Fender. Goldie gift short) initially got started in the entrepreneurial field by curating events because she couldn’t find the showcases she thought about attending so she created them. Brian has always had music in him being that both his dad & older brother are musicians. Silently working to meet & exceed their expectations and reputations he knew he had to bring everything he had when it was time to get the music done. The two met in school where they’d constantly see each other at social events and Brian enjoyed Goldie’s music anyway so the connection was inevitable. Initially only freestyling together the duo began to take their connection more seriously and get into the studio together. The studio is their co owned one where they record & produce all their material. With the release of their project The Island available on all platforms the duo hopes to make it clear to anyone who may not have known that they are here to stay. Going back and fourth between making the beats, harmonizing, writing, and then recording they’re already ahead of whatever curve may come they’re way. Then two things I got from these two during our sit down was their love for each other and their love for what they have going on. How both men and women share the relationship blame. Once upon a time, we all had the same dreamâ&#x20AC;Ś hoping to one day have all of our shit together! It is one of the great things that comes with that is having a somewhat functioning dating life or relationship, and yes, I mean with another human-being, just to clarify for those who are in love with themselves. Then we get older and we start to change. We take chances on love and some of us end up falling directly on our faces. And you know what? Others, sometimes manage to find someone and get married. Some of them get divorced, but some are unfortunately like a lot of us out here, still trying to get the hang of things or single again be-

cause something didnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t work out. Everyone has their fair share of ups and downs when it comes to relationships and dating but when matters of the heart are concerned, nowadays both men and women are equally to blame for the failure of a dating scene. The sad part about the dating scene in a lot of the big cities we live in today is lack of loyalty. Now listen, I know how it can be when it comes to the amazing options in the palm of our hands but, you will never be able to function in a romantic relationship at the rate some of you people are screwing. There is something to be said for waiting for the right person (not to say, stay a virgin, but more so, not everyone needs to know your personal business). In the age of the computer, it is hardly easy to have anything sacred. But there is something to be said for having a bond that no one else knows about but the two of you. You all know by now that although I believe in playing it safe, more importantly I believe that honesty is always the best policy. Although modern, conceived notions would have you believing that itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s cool to lie and sneak around to get further and farther than the competition or around your partner for that matter, Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m here to bring a great warning. May problems and miscommunication errors will be avoided if you choose to always be open to listen and speak honestly to your lover. Please always remember that just as you want to be understood, your partner will welcome and appreciate the understanding effort you put forth. It’s simple. We give up. Yep, you heard me. We give up. Some of you just lost where I am going but hear me out. The moment you let your ego go, the quicker your problems go away. The moment you realize that men and women equally both need each other is the day you can either decide to accept the love and respect you deserve or walk away. And not only accept it, you must DEMAND IT! We must, as kings and queens alike learn

to only accept what we feel we deserve and leave the rest where it’s at. This is the only way to truly find progression in being the person you are meant to be and of course, finding happiness. The Single Life and Serial Dating. - Caroline L. Thompson

Ahh,

the single life... no commitments, no relationships, no confusion? As a single person, male, female, or non-binary we are able to come as we go, date who we please, as many people as we please, and explore our likes and dislikes in a prospective partner. However, isn’t the point of dating to seek out a partner to potentially marry? For some that answer is yes, and for others that answer is no. For those who are not dating to land a relationship that could eventually lead to marriage, one might categorize that individual as a serial dater. It is totally OK for a person to date multiple people until one of the few makes the cut as monogamous beau, if monogamy is your thing. If you aren’t ready to settle down then spending quality time, getting to know a select few to see who is most compatible might be more up your alley. A serial dater might experience different levels of relationships while engaging in this choice. A serial dater might have a casual hang out partner, a sex buddy, and/or a long-term prospect that participates in more serious dates. With serial dating regardless of opinion of others, as stressed before if you’re a single individual you can be involved with whomever you please However, communication and honesty is key. These two factors can ensure your dating life isn’t messy and is drama free. If 100% single (cause we know how people are sometimes) and dating multiple people it’s best that they are aware that you are involved with another party. Give your mate the chance to make an informed decision about whether they’re comfortable or not being involved with someone who is involved with someone else. Communicate your #RelationshipGoals with the people/person you’re dating. Not ready to settle down? Make sure they’re aware. Dating can be a great time for a person of any age; it doesn’t have to be messy. Be an adult, communicate, be honest, and always stay safe.
